Which phone takes better photos?
Specifications show what a camera system offers, not which phone produces the better image in every situation. Apple lists a 48MP triple-camera system for iPhone 18 Pro, including variable aperture, a 4x telephoto camera and optical-quality 8x telephoto. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 family and Google’s Pixel 10 Pro are other current flagship options, but the available specifications do not establish an overall photo winner. Choose based on the photographs and workflow you care about. A meaningful comparison would need to assess the same scenes and conditions: daylight and low light, moving subjects and posed portraits, optical reach, color and skin tones, video, and available exposure or capture-format controls. No current, independent scene-by-scene comparison across the named phones is established here, so a ranking would go beyond the evidence.
- Prioritize zoom: compare the lenses and usable reach on the exact models, rather than relying on a headline megapixel count.
- Prioritize people, pets or action: look for comparative examples of motion handling and focus in the situations you actually shoot.
- Prioritize video or manual control: compare video modes and capture controls as well as still-photo samples.
Which has longer battery life?
Published runtime claims are not a head-to-head result when the manufacturers use different methods. Apple lists iPhone 18 Pro at up to 24 hours of typical use and up to 36 hours of video playback; Google describes Pixel 10-family battery life as over 24 hours under its usage-profile test and notes that actual life may be lower. For a useful third-party comparison, check that the review tested the same-size models under the same network conditions, settings and workload. Read whether its figure comes from continuous use, video playback or another defined test. A TechRadar comparison published in October 2026 discusses endurance for iPhone 18 Pro Max and Galaxy S26 Ultra; that result applies to those large models and that review’s method, not automatically to the smaller iPhone 18 Pro or every Android flagship. Which phone has the better software-support commitment?
Google and Samsung publish explicit seven-year policies for these device families. Apple’s cited EU information instead states a minimum guarantee; that minimum is not evidence that support ends when five years have passed.

These policies are not perfectly like-for-like: they differ in wording, update categories, start dates and regional scope. If longevity is decisive, verify the policy for the exact model and market, and distinguish OS upgrades from security updates rather than treating “years of updates” as one uniform promise.

How to choose between the exact models
- Match size and tier. Compare similarly sized Pro and flagship models; results for an Ultra or Pro Max do not automatically transfer to a smaller phone.
- Pick your camera priorities. Decide whether you care most about stills, video, low light, zoom, moving subjects or capture controls, then compare examples for those situations.
- Compare battery evidence by method. Favor a same-size, same-workload independent test; treat each maker’s own estimate as a claim measured under its stated method.
- Check the support terms. Confirm the update categories, start point and region for your specific model.
- Factor in daily fit. Your preferred operating system, phone size, camera workflow, accessories and devices you already own can outweigh a small advantage in one specification.
