There isn’t enough size-matched, independent testing to name a universal winner between Insignia’s QF QLED and Amazon’s Fire TV Omni QLED. The available Insignia specifications are for the 2025 65-inch QF, model NS65-UQFL26; Amazon’s cited Omni specifications describe the original 2022 generation, and features vary by screen size. If you are choosing between them, match the exact size and model first, then weigh local dimming, HDR formats, gaming needs, smart features, and current same-size prices.
What exactly is being compared?
“Fire TV Omni QLED” can refer to different sizes and potentially different generations. The documented Insignia example is the 2025 65-inch QF, model NS65-UQFL26, listed by Best Buy. Amazon’s cited launch details are for the original Omni QLED introduced in 2022. Amazon’s support information also indicates that Omni specifications vary by size. These products should not be treated as a single, uniform matchup.

The available RTINGS comparison, updated November 18, 2025, is for the Insignia F50 versus the original Omni Series—not the QF. Its findings cannot establish how the QF performs against an Omni. RTINGS’ F50-versus-Omni comparison is relevant only as background on those tested models.

These are published specifications, not a controlled picture-quality comparison. QLED describes quantum-dot color technology; by itself, it does not confirm local dimming. Likewise, support for an HDR format does not prove that a TV reaches higher brightness or handles HDR tone mapping better.

- Dolby Atmos Audio: Advanced spatial audio processing can be found in movies, TV shows, and video games.
Which may suit your viewing better?
For contrast and dark-room viewing
The original Omni launch announcement specifies full-array local dimming with up to 96 zones. That figure is Amazon’s published maximum for the original generation, not a guarantee for every size or a measurement of black levels. Amazon’s support information identifies a 43-inch Direct LED exception for which full-array local dimming is not specified. Check the exact Omni size and model rather than assuming the 96-zone claim applies to it.
Best Buy lists the 65-inch QF as Direct Lit but does not establish local-dimming capability. That omission is not proof that the TV lacks local dimming; it means the cited listing does not let you compare the two sets’ dimming systems confidently.

For HDR movies and shows
The listed formats differ: the QF listing names Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG, while Amazon’s 2022 Omni announcement names Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive. A format checklist can help if your preferred content or devices use a particular standard, but it cannot settle which TV looks better. Peak brightness, contrast, and tone mapping also affect the result, and the cited materials do not provide comparable measurements for these exact models.
For sports, games, and casual viewing
The QF’s listed 60 Hz refresh rate is useful to know, but it does not reveal input lag, variable refresh rate support, or performance with a particular console. The available RTINGS gaming and motion observations concern the F50 and Omni Series, not the QF, so they should not be applied to this comparison. For a PS5 or other console, verify the exact models’ supported refresh rates, VRR, HDMI capabilities, and measured input lag before buying.

For casual streaming, both product families use Fire TV, so the platform alone is not a strong differentiator. The QF listing confirms three HDMI inputs; check the exact Omni model’s connection list if you need ports for a console, soundbar, and other devices at once.
How to choose between the exact TVs on sale
- Match the screen size. Compare the same diagonal size, or decide explicitly whether a larger screen is worth a compromise elsewhere. Do not substitute an Insignia F50 comparison for QF evidence.
- Record each model number and generation. For the documented QF example, that is NS65-UQFL26. For the Omni, confirm the generation and size because backlight features vary.
- Check the features that affect your use. Confirm local dimming, HDR formats, refresh rate, gaming features, HDMI count, and smart-TV requirements on the exact manufacturer or retailer listing.
- Compare current prices on the same date. Use the same screen size and account for the seller and any promotion. The cited information does not establish current apples-to-apples prices, so it cannot show which model is the better value today.
- Look for independent testing of those models. Prefer measurements for the exact QF and Omni size and generation. Without that, treat specifications as clues—not proof of superior picture or gaming performance.
Verdict: which budget TV is better?
For the documented 2025 65-inch Insignia QF and the original 2022 Omni QLED, the evidence supports a conditional choice, not a definitive winner. The original Omni has a published full-array local-dimming claim of up to 96 zones, subject to size variation; the QF listing supplies a clearer feature checklist for its 65-inch model, including 60 Hz and three HDMI inputs. Neither fact alone proves better overall performance. Buy the one that best matches your size, verified model-specific features, and current price—and rely on size-matched independent measurements if picture quality is the deciding factor.
