Then confirm the feature is enabled for the right audio direction and that the app is using AMD’s virtual audio device. AMD lists supported hardware and software requirements, and notes a Realtek audio configuration that may prevent installation.
Check whether your PC meets AMD’s requirements
AMD Noise Suppression is an AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition feature, not a standalone microphone setting. AMD lists these minimum requirements on its Noise Suppression feature page:

- Ryzen 6000 Series processors with integrated graphics, or newer.
- Radeon RX 6000 Series desktop graphics, or newer.
- AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 22.7.1 or newer.
- Windows 10 or Windows 11.
AMD also warns that “AMD Noise Suppression may not install on systems equipped with Realtek ACP-based ANR.” If installation fails, check whether this caveat applies before repeatedly reinstalling the software or changing your microphone.

AMD’s separate general Adrenalin installation guidance lists Windows 10 64-bit version 1809 and later, or Windows 11 version 21H2 and later, for compatible Radeon systems, and says requirements can change. Meeting the Windows installer requirement does not by itself establish that your hardware supports Noise Suppression.

Install or update Adrenalin from AMD
If your hardware and Windows version qualify but the feature is missing, confirm that Adrenalin is installed and that its version meets the feature minimum. Use AMD Support to find the package for your product. AMD also offers an auto-detect tool for supported configurations; its listed operating-system scope is narrower than the general installer guidance, so use AMD’s product selector if the tool is not suitable for your system.
After installing or updating, reopen AMD Software and look for the feature again. AMD cautions that not every product includes every feature shown in its guides; consult the documentation for your specific product if the menu remains absent.

Enable Noise Suppression in AMD Software
- Open AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition.
- Search for Audio.
- Open Audio & Video Settings.
- Enable AMD Audio Noise Suppression.
- If AMD shows a quick start guide on first use, follow it to complete setup.
AMD’s published setup directions are based on Adrenalin 23.9.1, so menu names or placement may differ in another version or configuration. The documented feature path is AMD’s Audio & Video Settings guidance.
If the feature is enabled but the app gets unprocessed audio
Turn on the correct direction
AMD lets you enable Noise Suppression for input audio, output audio, or both, and choose CPU or GPU processing. For microphone cleanup, make sure the input path is enabled; for processed playback, enable output. CPU and GPU are processing choices, not quality rankings—AMD’s instructions do not provide a measured comparison.

Select AMD’s virtual device in the app
In the game or application where you want the feature to work, open its audio settings and select AMD Streaming Audio Device as the input for microphone processing, or as the output for playback processing. If the app continues to use a different microphone or speaker device, it may bypass AMD’s processed audio even though the feature is enabled in Adrenalin. AMD documents the direction and device-routing steps on its Noise Suppression feature page.

- Noise Suppression is missing: Verify the supported AMD hardware, Windows version, and Adrenalin minimum. Feature availability varies by product.
- It will not install: Check the Realtek ACP-based ANR caveat, then confirm you have the correct Adrenalin package for your AMD product.
- It appears enabled but does not affect a microphone: Confirm input suppression is enabled and choose AMD Streaming Audio Device as the app’s microphone.
- It does not affect playback: Confirm output suppression is enabled and choose AMD Streaming Audio Device as the app’s output.
AMD’s documentation identifies these requirements and setup checks, but does not provide an exhaustive error tree for every installation or application failure. If the device is still unavailable after these checks, consult AMD Support and the documentation for your specific product.
