This removes the download from your device, not the song from your Library. If you mean a purchased song, Amazon says it cannot currently be removed from the Purchased view on Android, iOS, or the Web Player.
Remove downloads from your device

Open the Amazon Music app and go to Settings > Downloads > Remove Download.

Amazon documents this download-management path for purchased content; its guidance does not specify additional taps or platform-specific button labels. The result is a removed offline copy, while the song remains in your Amazon Music Library. Amazon Music Help: Purchased music

Can you delete a purchased song from your Library?
Amazon says purchased songs cannot currently be removed from the Library > Purchased view on Android, iOS, or the Web Player. Amazon also says Customer Service cannot remove them from that view. Removing a download is therefore different from removing a purchased title from your account’s Purchased listing. Amazon Music Help: Purchased music
Find purchased music
On the mobile app or Web Player
Open Library, scroll the category buttons at the top until you see Purchased, then select it. Purchased music is no longer automatically included in the mobile and web Songs and Albums categories. Amazon Music Help: Find purchased music

Why subscription downloads stay in the app
Amazon’s offline-download guidance says Prime members can download All-Access Playlists for offline listening. Amazon Music Standard and Unlimited subscribers can download songs, albums, and playlists. Amazon says subscription downloads are accessible only in the Amazon Music app; they cannot be exported to other apps or copied to CDs or external storage. Stop All-Access Playlists from downloading automatically
Amazon says recently listened-to All-Access Playlists can download automatically on Android and iOS. If those downloads keep returning, turn off Auto-download All-Access Playlists in the app’s settings. Amazon Music Help: Download music for offline playback

A gray or unavailable title does not necessarily mean the download-removal setting failed. Amazon lists several possible causes, including the title leaving its catalog, an expired or canceled membership, certain plan changes, not using the app while connected to Wi-Fi in the past month, or an app update that requires downloads again.
