Amazon Hub Locker is a package pickup location you choose as the delivery destination for an eligible Amazon order. When the package arrives, Amazon sends instructions for opening the Locker—using a code, barcode, or the Amazon Shopping app, depending on the location. It is a pickup service, not a locker product you buy.
How does Amazon Locker work?
Choose a nearby Locker, select it as the destination for an order that qualifies, and collect the package after Amazon confirms delivery. The exact opening method and access hours depend on the selected location.

- Search for a Locker by address or ZIP code. Review its directions and operating hours before choosing it.
- Add the location to your Amazon address book or select it during checkout.
- Check that the Locker appears as a delivery option for the specific order. Amazon does not offer Locker delivery for every item.
- After delivery, follow the instructions in Amazon’s confirmation. They may specify a code, barcode, or the Amazon Shopping app.
- Pick up the package within the deadline in the message. Amazon’s U.S. guidance says the standard pickup period is three calendar days.

How long will Amazon Hub Locker hold my package?
Amazon’s U.S. consumer guidance says a Locker holds a package for three calendar days. If it is not collected within that period, Amazon says it will be returned and refunded. Check the delivery confirmation for the deadline and any location-specific instructions.

What kinds of Amazon Hub pickup locations are there?
The pickup process varies by location. Amazon’s Shipping API documentation distinguishes these access-point types:
- Core Locker: A self-service locker with a screen, keypad, and scanner.
- Odin Locker: A locker accessed with Bluetooth through an app, without a screen or scanner.
- Dobby Locker: An Odin installation for residents of apartment complexes.
- Locker+: An attended store location where staff manage packages for pickup.
These categories describe different equipment and service models; rely on the instructions attached to your order for the actual pickup method. Amazon also provides a glossary of access-point types.

Which orders qualify for Locker delivery?
Amazon’s U.S. explainer gives examples of eligible items: under 10 pounds, smaller than 16 × 12 × 14 inches, and sold or fulfilled by Amazon. These are examples in U.S. guidance, not a universal worldwide eligibility rule. The practical check is whether Amazon offers the selected Locker at checkout for that order.
Some delivery options are also unavailable for Locker destinations: Amazon says Amazon Day and release-date delivery cannot be used for them. Delivery speed and available options depend on the order and destination. Check Amazon’s Prime delivery help and the checkout details.

How widely is Amazon Hub Locker available?
In an About Amazon article updated August 13, 2026, Amazon reported more than 25,000 Locker locations in the United States and more than 750 Locker locations across more than 500 U.S. college campuses. Availability and hours still depend on the particular location; search by address or ZIP code to check nearby options.

For campus locations, Amazon describes the goal as fitting pickup into students’ schedules. Viraj Chatterjee, Amazon’s VP of Delivery Networks and Technology, said: “College students are constantly on the move, and picking up a package should fit into their day—not the other way around.”
