Instead of opening a locker yourself, you interact with a store associate to collect a package or, where returns are offered, hand one over. The services available depend on the specific location and the instructions Amazon gives you for your order.
How Amazon Hub Counter pickup works
-
During checkout, choose an available nearby pickup point and select it as the delivery destination.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
-
After the package is shipped, Amazon sends pickup details and a barcode by email or text message in the documented Amazon Shipping flow.

An Amazon Shipping tutorial gives customers seven days to collect a parcel in the particular service flow it describes. That window should not be treated as a universal deadline for every Hub Counter market or order: use the deadline in your own notification.
Can you return packages at a Counter?
Some Counters accept returns as well as pickups, but return acceptance is location- and order-dependent. Start a return from the order in your Amazon account and choose from the methods Amazon offers for that item. For eligible US returns, a label-free, box-free option may provide a QR code; you take the item and code to the selected drop-off location without boxing it. The return flow determines whether that option and location are available, so do not assume every Counter accepts every return.

Whole Foods locations have more than one Amazon return option
At Whole Foods Market, the available services can include a staffed Customer Service Desk for returns, an Amazon Counter for pickups and returns, and a self-service Amazon Returns Kiosk for returns. These are distinct services, and availability varies by store. Whole Foods says its stores accept returns, but that does not mean every store has an Amazon pickup Counter. Check the store finder and the return options shown for your order.
