The deal report behind the under-$90 claim is for the Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids Pro 64GB: Android Authority listed it at $89.99 on September 25, 2026, down from a stated $169.99, and described that as a record low. That is a dated report, not confirmation of today’s price. Check the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro listing for the current price, availability, and bundle terms before buying.
Which kids tablet was reported for less than $90?
It was the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro 64GB, not the standard Fire HD 8 Kids. Android Authority reported the Pro at $89.99, $80 below its stated $169.99 retail price, or 47% off, on September 25, 2026. The outlet called that price a record low. The price claim comes from deal coverage; it is not an independently verified historical Amazon price record.

The standard Fire HD 8 Kids is a separate configuration. TechRadar listed that model at $94.99 against a stated $169.99 price in early October 2026. A different October 7 deal report put the non-Kids Fire HD 8 at $79.99, but that is not the kids bundle and does not establish the Kids Pro’s price.
Is the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro under $90 right now?
The reported $89.99 price is a September 25, 2026 snapshot. Current availability, any Prime requirement, and the live Amazon price are not established by that report, so check the exact 64GB Kids Pro listing before deciding. Deal prices and bundle terms can change.

Does the Fire tablet have Google Play?
Fire OS uses Amazon’s Appstore and does not officially support Google Play, according to PCWorld’s coverage of the standard 2024 Fire HD 8. That is an important ecosystem tradeoff if a child needs a particular school, communication, or entertainment app: confirm that it is available through Amazon’s Appstore before purchase. PCWorld’s stated 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 1280×800 display, and microSD expansion up to 1TB refer to its described standard Fire HD 8 configuration; do not assume those details apply to the Kids Pro package without checking its listing.

Is this really the lowest price ever—and is it a bestseller?
Android Authority called $89.99 a record low, but the available price reporting does not independently establish an all-time Amazon price history. The cited materials also do not provide a sales-rank statistic to substantiate “bestselling.” Treat both phrases accordingly: the record-low wording is attributed to the outlet, while the bestseller claim is not verified by the cited coverage.
