All Ultimate Selection is a very large Minecraft 1.21.1 modpack built for NeoForge. To run it with friends, install the client and dedicated server pack from the same release, keep Minecraft and NeoForge versions identical on both sides, and plan for about 10 GB of allocated RAM for a small managed server. The CurseForge project provides a separate server-pack download, so you do not have to assemble more than 450 mods manually.
Running a modpack with friends? Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks (CurseForge, FTB, Technic) and free DDoS protection.
This guide explains the release files, managed-hosting workflow, self-hosting process, memory planning, updates, backups, connection checks, and the failure modes that matter most for a 450-plus-mod environment.

What All Ultimate Selection includes
TheWizard, the CurseForge project owner, describes All Ultimate Selection as: “450+ mods. Tech, Create, RPG, Magic, Exploration, Dimensions & much more. Everything in one modpack.” That figure is the author’s 2026 project description, not an independently audited count.
The project is categorized for exploration, multiplayer, quests, extra-large, and vanilla-plus play. Its scope combines Create automation and other technology with RPG progression, magic, combat, building, farming, storage, quality-of-life features, new biomes and structures, dungeons, bosses, and additional dimensions. That breadth explains why a server needs substantially more memory and CPU headroom than a lightly modded installation.

Current Minecraft, NeoForge, and pack versions
All Ultimate Selection targets Minecraft 1.21.1 and uses NeoForge. At the time of the September 28, 2026 CurseForge files-index snapshot, All Ultimate Selection MC 1.21.1-2.0.0 was the latest observed release, and a matching server-pack release was available.
Always treat the pack release as a three-part compatibility set:
Recommended Free Tools
- the All Ultimate Selection release number;
- Minecraft 1.21.1; and
- the NeoForge loader version selected by that pack release.
A client on 2.0.0 should connect to a server running the 2.0.0 server pack, not an older server archive. Mixing the 2.0.0 client with a 1.4.0 server can produce missing-mod errors, registry mismatches, rejected connections, or a world that loads with broken content.
Observed release files
| Release or artifact | Observed detail | What it means for setup |
|---|---|---|
| All Ultimate Selection MC 1.21.1-2.0.0 | Latest release shown in the CurseForge files index on September 28, 2026 | Use the matching 2.0.0 client and server artifacts when starting a new installation |
| Client ZIP, version 1.4.0 | 7.1 MB; uploaded August 30, 2026 | This is an earlier client artifact, useful only with the same 1.4.0 server release |
| Dedicated server ZIP, version 1.4.0 | 1.3 GB; uploaded August 30, 2026 | The server pack contains the large mod and configuration payload required by a dedicated server |
The files index showed 3,112 project downloads in the September 28, 2026 page state. That number is a project-download count, not a measurement of active servers or performance.
How much RAM does a server need?
Hosting-provider guidance clusters around 10 GB of allocated RAM for a small All Ultimate Selection server. WinterNode lists a 1.21.1 NeoForge configuration with 10 GB and describes 8–12 GB as typical depending on player count and view distance. Game Host Bros recommends at least 10 GB and says 14 GB or more gives additional headroom for busier groups and automation. These figures are provider recommendations, not an independent benchmark from TheWizard, CurseForge, or NeoForge.
Rank #2
- Explore randomly-generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles
- Play in Creative Mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armour to fend off the dangerous mobs
| Use case | Practical planning figure | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Small managed server | About 10 GB | Common recommendation from WinterNode and Game Host Bros provider pages in 2026 |
| Variable small-group setup | 8–12 GB | WinterNode’s guidance; actual need changes with players, view distance, and world activity |
| Busier group or heavy automation | 14 GB or more | Game Host Bros’ headroom recommendation, not a guaranteed capacity |
RAM is only one constraint. World generation, view distance, chunk pre-generation, automated Create machinery, entity counts, dimensions, and concurrent players can all increase CPU time and memory pressure. A server that starts successfully at 10 GB can still lag when several players explore new terrain while large farms or contraptions run.
Interpreting provider allocations
Game Host Bros says its 10 GB configuration allocates 8.7 GB to Java at startup. That is a provider-specific allocation detail, not proof that 8.7 GB is an official requirement. WinterNode’s listed 10 GB starting configuration showed a price of $19.90 per month in an October 2026 page state; hosting prices and stock can change, so verify the live figure before ordering.
Choose managed hosting or self-hosting
The right path depends on whether you value convenience or control more than recurring cost.
| Decision area | Managed hosting | Self-hosting |
|---|---|---|
| Version installation | A control panel can install the selected pack, Minecraft version, and NeoForge loader for you | You download and extract the exact server pack and run the loader using the files supplied with that release |
| Setup labor | Low; installation is handled during provisioning or through an Addons panel | Higher; you manage files, firewall access, updates, backups, and troubleshooting |
| Resources | Choose a plan around the provider’s 10 GB guidance and upgrade when your workload grows | You supply the machine’s RAM, CPU, storage, and network capacity |
| Backups and migration | Depends on the host’s backup policy and export tools; confirm both before purchase | You control backup frequency, retention, and where world copies are stored |
| Updates | Panels may offer one-click pack or addon updates | You replace files manually and must preserve the world and configuration safely |
| Latency and support | Select a data-center location and use the host’s support channel | You choose the machine location and are responsible for network and operating-system support |
| Recurring cost | Monthly charge; one listed WinterNode configuration showed $19.90 per month in October 2026 | No hosting subscription, but you pay for hardware, electricity, bandwidth, or a virtual server |
Managed-hosting installation
Managed hosts differ in panel labels, but the documented flow is consistent: select the pack, select the version, provision the server, and let the host apply the required loader and launch configuration.
BoxToPlay workflow
- Choose All Ultimate Selection in the host’s modpack list.
- Select the exact pack version you want to run.
- Review the cart, including the Minecraft plan and selected version.
- Complete provisioning; the installation is performed during setup.
Record the selected release number before inviting anyone. Every client must install that same release.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesRank #3
VeryGames workflow
- Select All Ultimate Selection and its version in the control panel.
- Create the installation.
- When a newer compatible pack is released, use the panel’s Addons area to update.
Back up the world before an update even when the panel offers an automated process. A pack update can change terrain, recipes, registries, or configuration defaults.
CreeperHost workflow
CreeperHost says its system prepares the correct Minecraft version, modloader, and launch setup automatically. Confirm the installed pack release in the panel after provisioning, then install the matching client release before connecting.
Other documented provider options
- WinterNode lists one-click installation for a 1.21.1 NeoForge server and recommends a 10 GB configuration.
- Game Host Bros advertises one-click installation, a dedicated server pack, and at least 10 GB of RAM; its page describes 8.7 GB allocated to Java at startup on the 10 GB configuration.
The project page also says TheWizard personally uses BisectHosting to test and host the pack, describes stable performance and one-click installation, and advertises a 25% discount code. That is a first-party promotional statement, not an independent performance test or guarantee.
Self-hosting with the dedicated server pack
Self-hosting gives you ownership of the files and world, but the exact startup command can vary with the server-pack contents and NeoForge release. The safe procedure is to use the launch script and instructions included in the matching ZIP rather than copying a command from an unrelated NeoForge version.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
1. Select one release before downloading
Write down the pack release, Minecraft version, and NeoForge version shown for that release. Download the official CurseForge server-pack ZIP for that exact release and the client installation for the same release. Do not combine a current client with an older server archive.

- CREATE YOUR WORLD — Build whatever you imagine in an infinite world that is unique in every playthrough.
- EXPLORE AND CRAFT — Discover biomes, resources, and mobs, then craft your way through a sandbox world full of surprises.
- SURVIVAL ADVENTURES — Face mysterious foes, travel across varied landscapes, and venture into perilous dimensions.
- PLAY TOGETHER — Play solo or join friends in local split-screen and cross-platform play across console, mobile, and PC. Online multiplayer supports up to 8 players.
- COMMUNITY PLAY — Connect with players on community servers, or subscribe to Realms Plus (sold separately) to play with up to 10 friends on a private server.
2. Prepare a dedicated server directory
Use a new directory on the machine that will run the server. Keep the directory separate from unrelated Minecraft instances so that mods, configuration files, logs, and worlds cannot be mixed accidentally. Ensure the machine has enough free disk space for the ZIP, extracted files, generated chunks, backups, and log growth; the earlier 1.4.0 server ZIP alone was 1.3 GB before extraction and world generation.
3. Extract the ZIP without flattening it
Extract the server pack while preserving its folder structure. Do not drag only the mods folder into another installation. The pack may include configuration, scripts, libraries, and loader files that must remain in their expected locations.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →4. Read the supplied launch instructions
Look for the startup script or README included with the server pack and use the command it supplies. NeoForge launch details can change between releases, so this guide intentionally does not invent Java flags, jar names, or installer commands that may not match 2.0.0. If the archive does not include a usable launcher, follow the current NeoForge documentation for the exact loader version named by the pack.
5. Complete first launch locally
Start the server from its own directory and watch the console for missing files, loader errors, or a request to accept Minecraft’s EULA. Stop and correct errors before exposing the server to the internet. A successful first launch should create the world and configuration files expected by the supplied pack.
6. Configure network access
Allow the server’s listening port through the host operating-system firewall and, if the machine is behind a router, forward that same TCP port to the server computer. Minecraft commonly uses port 25565 by default, but use the port defined in the server configuration if it has been changed. Do not expose unrelated administrative ports.

7. Create a repeatable backup routine
Stop the server cleanly before copying the world directory. Keep dated backups in a different location or on another device, and retain at least one copy from before every modpack update. Test that a backup can actually be restored on a separate directory; a file that was never restored is only an assumption of recoverability.
8. Connect with the matching client
Install the same All Ultimate Selection release, Minecraft 1.21.1 target, and NeoForge combination on each client. Enter the server address and port shown by your host or network configuration. If the client reports missing or mismatched mods, compare the release number and loader version before changing individual files.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Updating without breaking a world
- Read the new release number and confirm that a dedicated server pack exists for it.
- Make a full, dated backup of the world, configuration, and any scripts you customized.
- Stop the server completely; never overwrite mod files while Java is still running.
- Install the new server pack in a separate directory or preserve a copy of the old directory for rollback.
- Apply only the configuration changes you understand, then start the new instance and inspect the log.
- Join with a client on the identical new release and test an existing base, storage, machines, dimensions, and a fresh area.
- Keep the old installation and backup until you have confirmed that the world and automation behave normally.
On a managed host, use the panel’s update function only after confirming its target version and backup behavior. On a self-hosted machine, a separate directory makes rollback much safer than replacing files in place.
Troubleshooting connection and performance problems
Client says the server has missing or extra mods
- Compare the complete pack release number on client and server.
- Confirm both target Minecraft 1.21.1.
- Confirm the NeoForge loader versions are the ones specified by that release.
- Reinstall the official client profile or server pack instead of copying individual mods from another version.
The server stops during startup
- Read the first meaningful error in the log, not only the final shutdown line.
- Verify that the supplied server-pack structure was preserved during extraction.
- Use the launch script or README shipped with the pack and the NeoForge version it names.
- Check available disk space and memory before changing settings.
Players experience tick lag
- Reduce view distance if the host or server configuration permits it.
- Identify whether several players are generating new chunks simultaneously.
- Pause or spread out heavy automation and inspect entity counts.
- Consider moving from the 10 GB starting allocation toward the 14 GB-plus headroom suggested by Game Host Bros for busier groups, while remembering that more RAM cannot compensate for inadequate CPU performance.
Players cannot reach the server
- Confirm the server process is running and listening on the configured port.
- Check the operating-system firewall and router forwarding for that same port.
- Use the address and port supplied by the host or your network configuration.
- Test from inside and outside the local network separately; a local success does not prove that internet forwarding is correct.
Operational checklist
- Pack release recorded for both client and server
- Minecraft 1.21.1 confirmed on both sides
- NeoForge version matched to the selected pack release
- Dedicated server ZIP downloaded from the official project files
- At least about 10 GB allocated for a small managed installation, with workload-based headroom
- Server files extracted with their original structure
- Launch script or release-specific NeoForge instructions used
- Firewall and router rules limited to the configured Minecraft port
- Dated world backups stored separately and periodically restored for testing
- Clients tested on the identical release before inviting the whole group
Bottom line
Run All Ultimate Selection as a matched Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge installation. Managed hosting is the shortest route because providers can install the version, loader, and server pack through a panel; self-hosting is practical when you want full control and are prepared to manage extraction, startup instructions, networking, backups, and updates yourself. Start around 10 GB for a small group, then size upward based on exploration, automation, entities, view distance, and concurrent players rather than treating any provider recommendation as a guaranteed benchmark.
