Spoiler warning: This guide discusses ending unlocks and route requirements, but not detailed ending scenes. Silent Hill: Townfall has three main endings available on a first playthrough, according to Konami producer Motoi Okamoto; completing the game unlocks access to a secret ending. Post-launch guides identify five endings in total: Justice, Forever, Abandoned, Dog, and Sci-fi. The developers confirm that actions across the run determine the ending—not one final yes-or-no choice. Exact scoring and the full meaning of each ending have not been officially established.

How many endings does Silent Hill: Townfall have?

There are three main endings that can be reached on a first run, plus a secret ending unlocked after completing the game, according to Konami producer Motoi Okamoto in a PlayStation.Blog interview published July 30, 2026. Post-launch guides name the three first-run outcomes Justice, Forever, and Abandoned, and identify Dog and Sci-fi as New Game+ endings. The five-name list and the additional route details come from guides, not from the official interview.

McKellan, writer and director at Screen Burn Interactive, explained the main-ending system this way: “The endings in Silent Hill: Townfall aren’t determined by a simple binary choice at the end. Instead, the culmination of the player’s actions throughout their playthrough dictates which ending they reach.” That is the clearest official guidance on how the ordinary endings are selected.

How do you get the Justice, Forever, or Abandoned ending?

Post-launch guides describe the three main endings as outcomes of an accumulated, hidden score. In the detailed breakdown from Silent Hill Memories, discoveries add points, while certain actions subtract them. The guide reports these thresholds: Abandoned below 0, Forever from 0 through 19, and Justice at 20 or above. These are community-reported mechanics; the developers have not confirmed the formula or thresholds.

#1 Best Overall
SILENT HILL: townfall | DAY ONE EDITION - PlayStation 5
  • Experienced entirely in first person, explore, evade, and survive using a limited set of weapons and tools, including a pocket television used to tune into unstable signals. Evasion is tense; combat is frenetic, while narrative driven puzzles reveal a truth that refuses to stay submerged.
  • SILENT HILL: Townfall is a full-length, self-contained psychological horror set against the cold, isolated backdrop of Scotland, 1996
Ending Reported score range What is established
Abandoned Below 0, according to Silent Hill Memories Guide-reported threshold; not developer-confirmed
Forever 0–19, according to Silent Hill Memories Guide-reported threshold; not developer-confirmed
Justice 20 or higher, according to Silent Hill Memories Guide-reported threshold; not developer-confirmed

The same guide reports +1 for each Clue or Document discovery, −2 for qualifying Simon kills, −4 for each cannula refill, and −3 for specified mistakes involving Zoe. It says the game does not show a score tracker. The visible end statistics combine character kills and therefore do not directly reveal the hidden ending score.

Other guides use simplified descriptions based on the balance between discoveries and kills, and their explanations do not consistently agree on thresholds. Treat the detailed point values as a guide’s best-reported account rather than a guaranteed formula. If you are aiming for a particular first-run ending, collecting discoveries and avoiding the reported penalties is the cautious approach; save before the final stretch so you can revisit it if the outcome is not what you wanted.

Silent Hill Townfall - Day One Edition - PS5
  • Day One Edition Bonus: CRTV Style: Rusted, CRTV Style: Beach Edition
  • Returning to an island town to ‘put things right’, Simon Ordell descends into a world of tense evasion, explosive confrontations, and mind-bending puzzles that slowly surface the truth of St. Amelia
  • Simon Ordell is called back to the island of St. Amelia to ‘put things right’, encountering a town lying quiet beneath a heavy fog, seemingly abandoned but not at rest
  • Venturing deeper, and driven to understand his connection to the place and its inhabitants, Simon begins to discover fragments of a past rising to the surface
  • Experienced entirely in first person, Simon must explore, evade, and survive using a limited set of weapons and tools, including the CRTV, a pocket television used to tune into unstable signals. Evasion is tense; combat is frenetic, while narrative driven puzzles reveal a truth that refuses to stay submerged

What counts as a discovery?

Townfall Guide reports 85 Clues and Documents in the game, grouped as “Discoveries.” That is a guide-reported collectible count, not a figure published by the developers. Since the game has no in-world score display, collecting these items is one of the observable actions that guide sources associate with the hidden calculation.

How do you unlock the Dog ending?

Post-launch guides classify Dog as a New Game+ ending. Townfall Guide reports that it is triggered by depositing three coins in dog-shaped banks. The route is described as overriding the ordinary ending, rather than simply adding a scene after it. The exact placement and sequence should be followed from a current walkthrough; the official interview does not provide these steps.

Silent Hill Townfall - Day One Edition - PS5
  • Day One Edition Bonus: CRTV Style: Rusted, CRTV Style: Beach Edition
  • When Simon Ordell is called back to the island of St. Amelia to "put things in order", he meets a city lying quietly in dense fog, seemingly abandoned, yet anything but dormant
  • After venturing further to understand his connection to this place and its inhabitants, he gradually discovers fragments of the past rising to the surface
  • Simon must explore, evade and survive from a first-person perspective. It uses a limited arsenal of weapons and tools, including the CRTV: a portable TV to receive unstable signals
  • The dodging is tension, the battles are hectic and the story-based puzzles reveal a truth that does not want to remain hidden

How do you unlock the Sci-fi ending?

PowerPyx identifies Sci-fi as a New Game+ route and reports that it branches earlier than the ordinary ending and skips the final boss. The sources cited here do not establish a reliable step-by-step item and action sequence, so there is not enough verified detail to give a complete recipe without risking a misleading instruction. As with Dog, this route is guide-reported rather than developer-described.

What do the endings mean?

The official interview explains how the main ending is determined but does not name the individual endings or describe their scenes. The post-launch route guides cited here establish names and reported unlock mechanics, but they do not provide a sound basis for treating any detailed scene interpretation or thematic reading as confirmed canon. The ending labels alone are not enough to establish what each outcome means.

Can you get every ending in one playthrough?

No single first run gives access to all five reported endings: the three main outcomes are available on a first playthrough, while Dog and Sci-fi are described by guides as New Game+ routes. Okamoto says a secret ending becomes available after completing the game once. The available official account does not specify whether that secret ending is a separate sixth ending or how it relates to the five names used by guides, so the safest count is to distinguish the three official first-run main endings from the five endings named in post-launch guides.

Why the CRTV and story context matter

In Tom’s Guide’s description, protagonist Simon Ordell arrives in the fictional Scottish town of St. Amelia, where clues point to a forgotten connection involving residents Zoe and Richard. His portable CRTV helps detect enemies, receive signals, and solve puzzles. That setup gives the game many opportunities for actions and discoveries across a full run, consistent with the developers’ explanation that the main ending reflects the whole playthrough rather than one closing decision.
