The company told Android Authority it is implementing a fix, but the cause and rollout status have not been established.
What happens when Alexa+ starts singing “lalala”?
Users have reported Echo speakers repeating or singing “lalala,” sometimes interrupting a conversation. The Verge says reports involve multiple Echo speaker types, but neither it nor Android Authority provides a measured count of affected devices or users.

One user cited by Dutch outlet Tweakers described an episode lasting about ten minutes. That is an individual account, not a verified maximum duration. Some users also said Alexa+ seemed unaware of the episode when asked about it afterward; that observation does not establish how the assistant handles memory or monitoring internally.
Is Amazon aware of the Alexa+ singing bug?
Yes. Android Authority reported on October 5, 2026, that Amazon described it as a bug affecting “a small number of Alexa Plus” users and said it was implementing a fix. The statement is relayed by the outlet; the sources available do not include a published Amazon support notice or a user count.

- Say goodbye to drop-offs and buffering - With eero Built-in, Echo Dot doubles as a mesh wifi extender, adding up to 1,000 sq. ft. of wifi coverage to your existing eero network.
The Verge also reported Amazon’s fix-in-progress response on October 6, 2026. Those reports concern the same incident, so they are not independent measurements of how widespread the behavior is.
Why is Alexa+ singing, and has the bug been fixed?
The cause is not established. The reporting does not confirm that a recent software update triggered the behavior, and it does not give a date for the fix or confirm that it has reached affected devices. Tweakers likewise reported that Amazon had not explained the cause or set a repair date.

As of October 7, 2026, the supported distinction is that Amazon reportedly recognizes a bug and says a fix is being implemented—not that the issue is resolved for all users.
What can you do if your Echo starts singing?
The reports do not establish a user-side troubleshooting step that reliably stops the episode. They also do not show that restarting, resetting, or replacing an Echo fixes this particular bug. If it happens, note which Echo model is involved and when the episode occurs, then contact Amazon support or check its official support channels for a confirmed fix announcement. Treat those as ways to seek help and updates, not guaranteed remedies.
