Albatross Lending Group joined the Bridging & Development Lenders Association (BDLA) as a lender member, according to an announcement published on 1 October 2026. The announcement describes Albatross as offering short-term property finance and secured funding for UK small and medium-sized businesses. Membership is an industry-association development, not a loan offer or evidence that a particular borrower will qualify.

What the BDLA is—and what membership means
The BDLA is described as a UK trade association representing bridging and development lenders. Its stated role includes promoting standards and representing members’ perspectives to government, regulators and the property finance industry. Coverage also lists market insight, networking, events, media activity and opportunities to contribute to sector development among the benefits of membership. Albatross’s membership does not amount to regulatory approval, a guarantee of loan quality or an endorsement of any particular loan. The announcement coverage gives no rates, fees, terms, eligibility criteria or named referral programme, so it cannot be used to compare borrowing offers.

What the companies said
BDLA CEO Adam Tyler said specialist lenders can have a role when transactions call for speed, flexibility or a more individual approach to underwriting for property lending or SME finance.
Albatross chief operating officer Joshua Field called joining the BDLA a “natural next step” as the company grows, saying it gives the company an opportunity to contribute to sector discussions. Field also described Albatross’s approach as combining a commercial approach to lending with clear communication and direct access to decision-makers. These are statements attributed to the executives in the membership announcement coverage, not independently verified measures of service or lending performance.
