What Akro-Mils makes for workplace storage
Akro-Mils’ product families address different storage needs. AkroDrawers are enclosed, stackable drawers for supplies, tools, and parts. AkroBins are open bins that can be stacked or hung on compatible supports. The 30812 is a mobile steel cart documented for bins and small steel cabinets, not as an AkroDrawer-specific cart.

These distinctions matter when planning a mobile setup: a drawer that stacks with other drawers is not automatically made to hang from a bin cart, and a general-purpose cart is not necessarily a compatible drawer base.
AkroDrawers: a stackable option for small parts
The AkroDrawer family includes eight listed models: 31142, 31148, 31162, 31168, 31182, 31188, 31112, and 31118. Models differ in width and length, and the manufacturer lists model-dependent weight capacities from 15 to 25 lb. Consult the current Akro-Mils storage drawer product information and manufacturer catalog for exact dimensions, specifications, and current color or packaging details.

The drawers are stackable. Manufacturer literature also describes using them with Pick Racks and enclosed steel shelving. Dividers are available as listed accessories, allowing a drawer to be partitioned for smaller parts; verify the accessory fit for the drawer model you choose.
30812 Mobile Bin Cart: documented fit and specifications
The 30812 is a heavy-duty steel mobile cart with a top shelf that can serve as a work surface. Akro-Mils says it is designed for hanging AkroBins, InSight bins, or small steel cabinets; those storage products are sold separately. The manufacturer’s undated product specification lists dimensions of 38.5 in long × 24 in wide × 36.5 in high and a 250 lb load capacity. The published product description does not call the 30812 a cart for AkroDrawers. Do not assume drawers will attach or sit securely on it without confirmation for the exact models and intended arrangement.
AkroBins and other mobile options
AkroBins are an adjacent alternative when open-top access is more useful than enclosed drawers. Standard AkroBins can stack or hang from compatible louvered racks, panels, rail racks, and louvered carts. Akro-Mils describes Super-Size AkroBins as stackable and suitable for shelving, steel carts, and dollies; mobile options are available for some products. Akro-Mils also lists two- and three-shelf utility carts for order-picking, as well as stock trucks and platform trucks for moving merchandise. Their inclusion in the product range does not establish that they are designed to hold AkroDrawers.

How to choose a compatible setup
- Choose the storage format. Pick AkroDrawers for enclosed, stackable parts storage; choose AkroBins when open access and hanging or stacking are useful.
- Check the space. Compare each drawer’s outside dimensions with the rack or cabinet opening, and its interior dimensions with the parts you need to store. Use the current manufacturer specifications for the exact model.
- Check capacity and organization. Match the drawer’s model-specific capacity to its contents, and confirm that any dividers are listed for that model.
- Verify every mobile connection. For a cart, compare footprint, work height, and rated load, then confirm the exact bin or cabinet is intended to hang on or mount to it. Do not infer fit from brand or general-purpose wording.
Which option suits which workplace?
- Fixed, compartmentalized storage: AkroDrawers, stacked or used with the manufacturer-described rack and shelving systems.
- Mobile open-bin storage: 30812 with compatible AkroBins or InSight bins, or the small steel cabinets specified by Akro-Mils.
- Open-bin shelving or other mobility: Standard or Super-Size AkroBins with a support system documented for the specific bin.
