At the time of the cited release, it was also No. 1 on three Steam charts: Top Sellers, Popular New Releases and Trending Free. Those are launch-period results, not its current rankings.
What the 400,000-player milestone means
Concurrent players are the people playing at the same time. Inven Global reported that AION 2 had exceeded 400,000 concurrent players on Steam, attributing the number to an NC America release. The figure concerns Steam only; AION 2 is also available through NC’s PURPLE platform, and the report did not give a combined player count. Inven Global’s October 6 report

Which Steam charts did AION 2 lead?
According to Inven Global’s account of NC America’s release, AION 2 ranked No. 1 on these three charts at the time of the announcement:
- Top Sellers: a ranking by revenue, as described in the report.
- Popular New Releases.
- Trending Free.
These positions describe a particular launch-period snapshot. They should not be read as a claim that AION 2 still leads those charts.
Where did it rank in a later Steam snapshot?
A later captured view of Steam’s chart page placed AION 2 at No. 4 among Top Selling Games and No. 3 among Most Played. The Most Played entry showed 368,966 at the time of access. Steam rankings and player counts change, so those figures are a dated snapshot—not a live ranking or a lasting position. The captured view did not show AION 2’s positions on Popular New Releases or Trending Free.

What kind of game is AION 2?
AION 2 is a free-to-play open-world MMORPG available on Steam and NC’s PURPLE platform. Inven Global describes flight, underwater exploration, and aerial PvE and PvP combat as central features. NC America also says the game’s world is 36 times larger than the original AION; that is the company’s comparison, not an independently measured map-size result. Inven Global’s report on the launch
The launch effort also included a “War For Atreia” campaign involving 60 streamers across North America, Europe and South America, according to Inven Global. Viewers could earn in-game rewards through Twitch Drops.
