NC says AION 2 exceeded 400,000 peak concurrent users when its global service began on October 5, 2026. That is a publisher-reported peak—not an independently audited count—and NC did not specify how it measured the figure or how users were divided between Steam and its PURPLE launcher.
What does the 400,000 figure mean?
In an October 6 announcement, NC reported that AION 2’s peak concurrent users surpassed 400,000 on the first day of global service. “Concurrent” refers to users playing at the same time; it is not a count of total accounts, downloads, or unique players. NC’s release does not provide a measurement method, the length of the peak, or a platform-by-platform breakdown. NC’s launch announcement is the source of the claim.

Was October 5 AION 2’s first launch?
No. October 5, 2026 was the global service launch. NC had previously announced that AION 2 would launch in Korea and Taiwan on November 19, 2025. The global rollout therefore followed those regional launches rather than marking the game’s first service date. NC’s November 2025 announcement gives the earlier date.

Where can players access the global PC release?
NC named Steam and its PURPLE platform as distribution channels for the global launch, and described AION 2 as a PC MMORPG. Its announcement lists operating servers in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia (Japan), and says the game supports eight languages. NC also described early-access and Steam chart results. These figures are publisher-reported, and the rankings below are snapshots rather than evidence of a lasting position.

The mention of Founder’s Packs describes access to the early-access period; it does not establish that the global game must be purchased. NC’s reported Trending Free chart position is separate context, not a full account of access terms.
Are there launch rewards?
The official global site offered two login mounts, delivered to players through in-game mail. The offer had account-creation and claim deadlines in December 2026; check the official AION 2 site for the terms and dates before relying on the promotion.
