The wildest AI-assisted game mashups
These projects put recognizable characters, mechanics, or assets from one game into another. Their availability and completeness vary, so treat each clip as a demonstration unless the creator provides a release and clear setup instructions.

How do you put one game inside another?
There is no single technique behind these clips. “A game inside another” can mean anything from bridging two running games to adapting selected content or recreating behavior. The Universal Modder documentation outlines several approaches, but the method for a specific mashup should be treated as unknown unless its creator or documentation explains it.

- Run two games and bridge them: both games run on the same computer, while software passes information between them. This can make one game’s state affect the other without combining both complete codebases.
- Port content or mechanics: selected assets or behavior from the guest game are brought into the host game.
- Embed an implementation: a decompiled or otherwise reimplemented version of the guest game may be embedded as a library.
- Recreate and fuse behavior: the guest game’s behavior can be reimplemented and then connected to the host.

What AI contributes—and what people still do
AI agents can assist with reverse engineering, code, and asset integration, but that does not mean an agent independently conceived and shipped a complete game. A creator chooses the crossover, supplies the game files and tools, directs the work, and checks whether the result functions. That distinction matters when judging a clip: it may show a real interaction or a technical proof of concept without demonstrating a stable, complete game. Before you try a mashup
- Find the creator’s release page. Confirm that a release exists and is from the creator or project maintainers. The Minecraft-in-Elden-Ring clip was reported as unreleased in October 2026; a repost or download claiming to be official is not enough evidence. VGTimes, October 4–5, 2026.
- Identify what is actually available. A project may have a ready-made build, source code that you must compile, or only a video. Minecraft in GTA V, for example, was reported as public code without a ready-made mod. VGTimes, October 4–5, 2026.
- Check requirements for that release. Confirm the platform, supported versions, required original game files, and any special controls. The skating mode in the MW2 mashup’s setup guide requires a controller; that requirement should not be generalized to other projects. Aria, checked October 4, 2026.
- Set expectations around stability. Reported bugs, limitations, and version constraints mean a demonstration should not be mistaken for polished or complete gameplay. Check the release notes and creator’s instructions before installing. VGTimes, October 4–5, 2026.
Why these clips are compelling
The fun is in the collision of systems: a familiar character or mechanic behaves somewhere it was never designed to belong. Steve placing blocks in Skyrim, a soldier skating through MW2, and Mario’s moves appearing in Elden Ring each make that contrast instantly legible. The same spectacle can obscure the engineering underneath, though: a clip may represent a bridge, a partial port, a modified build, or a demonstration with no public release. The useful question is not only “what games are crossed over?” but also “what can someone else actually download and play?”
