- For Adobe Commerce on Cloud, verify patch status. Adobe describes using the Quality Patches Tool; its article gives this example command:
vendor/bin/magento-patches -n status | grep "39341|Status". Treat it as an example and follow the current instructions for your Cloud environment. - Rotate the encryption key and potentially exposed credentials. Complete the post-hotfix actions below, following Adobe’s guidance.
The bulletin lists the hotfix for Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source. For the applicable release and product details, rely on Adobe’s current instructions rather than applying a patch based only on a similar version number.

What to rotate after patching
Adobe’s September 21, 2026 support article says operators should rotate the encryption key and all credentials that may have been encrypted or exposed using it. Changing the key by itself does not invalidate credentials that may already have been exposed; rotate those credentials with the systems or providers that issued them. Adobe’s examples include:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- Admin passwords and REST, SOAP, or GraphQL integration tokens
- OAuth client secrets and payment gateway API credentials
- Database and Fastly credentials
- SSH and deployment keys, plus service-account credentials
- Keys used by shipping, tax, and other extensions
Use Adobe’s support article for the current key-rotation and credential guidance, including any steps specific to your deployment.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does patching prove the store was not compromised?
No. Applying the hotfix addresses the vulnerability going forward, but Adobe’s published material does not say that patching determines whether a store was previously accessed. If you suspect exposure, treat patching and credential rotation as remediation, not proof of a clean environment. Adobe’s cited bulletin and support article do not publish a victim count or forensic indicators, so they cannot establish whether an individual merchant was affected.
