Why “Windows 11 32 bit” is not a valid driver target
Microsoft says Windows 11 is 64-bit only. The phrase “32 bit” may come from an older driver listing or a search query, but it does not describe a 32-bit Windows 11 edition. Do not select a package simply because it says “32 bit”; first confirm the printer model and the operating systems and architectures the printer maker supports. Identify the printer before downloading anything
Check the label on the printer itself for its manufacturer and complete model name or number. Do not assume the printer is made by Acer just because the computer is an Acer device. Acer’s United States Drivers and Manuals page asks for an Acer device’s serial number, SNID, or part number. Its Windows 11 compatibility page concerns tested Acer laptops, desktops, and tablets; it is not a printer-driver catalog. Those pages cannot confirm support for an unspecified printer.

Try Windows setup and updates first
Add the printer in Settings
- Connect or turn on the printer using the connection method it supports.
- In Windows 11, open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select Add device and follow the prompts if Windows finds the printer.
Microsoft says most printers work with Windows out of the box, so separate printer software is often unnecessary. Microsoft’s add-or-install instructions.
Check Windows Update if setup does not provide what you need
Microsoft recommends Windows Update to download, install, and update printer drivers. Check Windows Update, including optional driver updates when available for your Windows version. When to use the printer manufacturer’s driver
If Windows setup and updates do not resolve the issue, go to the official support page for the printer’s manufacturer and search the exact model. Before downloading, verify that the page lists support for that printer and Windows 11, and follow its architecture and installation instructions. Do not use a driver for a different model or treat a legacy 32-bit Windows driver as a Windows 11 package. Compatibility of a particular older printer cannot be established without its model and the manufacturer’s documentation.
If the Windows 11 PC uses an ARM processor
On some ARM-based Windows PCs, a printer manufacturer’s installer may not work. Microsoft advises trying Windows’ Add device route unless the printer manufacturer provides specific ARM installation instructions.
