On specifications alone, the Samsung 990 PRO 4TB is the stronger drive: Samsung rates it for higher sequential speeds and 2,400 TBW, compared with the Acer FA200 4TB’s 2,000 TBW. The FA200 may be the better buy if it costs materially less where you live. Since current prices and independent head-to-head benchmarks are not established here, make the final call using the price of the exact models in your market and the needs of your system.
How the 4TB models compare
Both are internal M.2 2280 SSDs using PCIe Gen 4 x4 and NVMe 2.0, according to their manufacturers. The most useful documented differences are Samsung’s higher maximum sequential speed ratings and its higher stated endurance limit.

| Specification | Acer FA200 4TB | Samsung 990 PRO 4TB |
|---|---|---|
| Form factor and interface | M.2 2280, PCIe Gen 4 x4, NVMe 2.0 (Acer: product page) | M.2 2280, PCIe Gen 4 x4, NVMe 2.0 (Samsung: UK product page) |
| Maximum sequential read | 7,100 MB/s (Acer Storage/BIWIN, April 2026 specification PDF) | 7,450 MB/s (Samsung Electronics, UK product page accessed October 7, 2026) |
| Maximum sequential write | 6,100 MB/s (Acer Storage/BIWIN, April 2026 specification PDF) | 6,900 MB/s (Samsung Electronics, UK product page accessed October 7, 2026) |
| Endurance and warranty limit | 2,000 TBW or five years, whichever comes first (Acer product page and April 2026 specification PDF) | 2,400 TBW or five years on the cited UK page (Samsung Electronics; check local terms) |
| NAND and cache details | Not stated in the cited Acer materials | V-NAND TLC, Samsung in-house controller, and 4GB low-power DDR4 SDRAM cache (Samsung UK product page) |
| Current street price | Not established | Not established |
These are manufacturer specifications, not independent comparative test results. Samsung also cautions that actual performance may vary with system hardware and configuration. Maximum sequential ratings describe a particular type of transfer; they do not show how large the practical difference will be in every game, application, or file-copy workload.

Higher published sequential speeds
Samsung rates the 990 PRO at up to 7,450 MB/s read and 6,900 MB/s write. Acer rates the FA200 at up to 7,100 MB/s read and 6,100 MB/s write. That makes Samsung the faster option on the manufacturers’ published maximum sequential figures, but the ratings alone do not prove a matching real-world advantage for a particular PC or console.

Higher stated endurance
The cited Samsung UK page lists 2,400 TBW for the 4TB model, while Acer lists 2,000 TBW for the FA200 4TB. Both also have a five-year limit in the cited materials; the warranty ends at the earlier applicable limit, rather than extending beyond five years if the TBW figure has not been reached. Samsung’s warranty information here is UK-specific, so check the terms for your country before treating the figures as directly equivalent.
More disclosed component detail
Samsung identifies V-NAND TLC, its in-house controller, and 4GB of low-power DDR4 SDRAM cache for this 4TB product. The cited Acer materials do not establish equivalent NAND or cache details, so there is not enough information here to compare those components directly.

When the Acer FA200 makes more sense
The FA200 is the more compelling choice if its exact 4TB model is meaningfully cheaper in your market and its published performance and endurance suit your needs. There is no verified price comparison here, so check both drives at current local retailers rather than assuming Acer costs less.

Compare the price per advertised terabyte for the same capacity and configuration. Check the precise product listing: the presence of a heatsink, stock, and regional SKU can affect what you are actually buying. Neither the name of the drive nor a general retailer search is enough to establish a current price or included accessories.

Check compatibility before buying
Matching M.2 2280 and PCIe Gen 4 x4 specifications do not guarantee that either SSD fits or works in every device. Acer identifies PS5 as a use case, and Samsung lists client PCs and game consoles, but those manufacturer references are not confirmation of compatibility with every specific model.
- Confirm that the motherboard, laptop, or console supports an M.2 2280 NVMe SSD and a 4TB capacity.
- Check the device’s clearance and whether the exact drive variant has a heatsink. Do not assume a heatsink is included or that an aftermarket one will fit.
- For a console or compact system, follow that device maker’s requirements for drive installation and cooling.
Which one should you buy?
Choose the Samsung 990 PRO 4TB if its current local price is acceptable and you value its higher published sequential speeds and TBW rating. Choose the Acer FA200 4TB if it is materially cheaper and its specifications meet your workload. Without verified local pricing and independent workload-specific testing, neither is a universal value winner.
