What’s actually slowing this PC down?

If an Abstract Screenshot API image stops at the visible browser area, first check whether your actual request enables full-page capture. A viewport image and a full-page image are different capture scopes. Abstract’s older Python SDK reference documents a capture_full_page option, but it does not establish the current REST API’s parameter name or default. Verify the live REST syntax in Abstract’s API documentation rather than guessing a key.
First determine what “cut off” means
Compare the returned image with the configured viewport dimensions and the page itself. If the image is exactly the viewport size and ends where the visible browser area ends, the request may be producing a viewport capture rather than a full-page capture. If it extends below the viewport but stops at a particular section, the request may already be capturing more than the viewport; investigate whether the content below that point had rendered when the capture ran.

Abstract says its Website Screenshot API can customize viewport dimensions, image format, capture timing, and CSS injection. Those controls can help narrow down a problem, but the product page does not identify the cause of a particular truncated image.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteVerify the full-page option in the request Abstract receives
- Inspect the outgoing HTTP request or the final request assembled by your SDK. Confirm the target URL, viewport dimensions, and every capture parameter. An application setting is not proof that the corresponding option reached the API.
- Check Abstract’s current REST documentation for the exact full-page field name and accepted value for your request format. Do not assume a key such as
full_pageorfullPagefrom the SDK documentation. - Compare the response dimensions with the configured viewport. This helps distinguish a viewport-sized image from an image that stops at a page section; dimensions alone do not identify why content is missing.
The Abstract Python SDK 1.0.0 reference lists capture_full_page, along with width, height, delay, css_injection, user_agent, and export_format. It says capture_full_page defaults to true for that SDK version. That is evidence about the listed SDK arguments and version—not confirmation of the current REST parameter spelling or default.

If full-page capture is enabled, check rendering time
A page can change after its initial load. If content appears only after scripts run or the page otherwise takes time to settle, a capture made too early may not include it. Abstract describes customizable capture timing and delays, so try the timing control documented for the request you are using. There is no universal wait duration established here: choose a value by observing the target page, rather than treating an arbitrary delay as a guaranteed fix.
Abstract also lists CSS injection. Use it only when you have identified a specific page element or style that affects the result; it is not a substitute for confirming full-page scope or waiting for content to render.

Isolate whether the issue follows the request or the page
- Make a capture of a simple, stable page using the same request structure and full-page setting.
- Compare its result with the affected page, keeping the relevant request settings consistent.
- Observe whether the missing content is present in the target page when it is captured, including whether it appears only after a delay or interaction.
- If the simple page works but the affected page does not, include that difference in your diagnosis. It narrows the investigation but does not, by itself, prove a particular site-side cause.
Do not infer a height ceiling, lazy-loading defect, site restriction, or Abstract service defect from a cropped image alone. The available information does not establish those as the cause of an individual failure.

- The complete request parameters and request format, with the API key removed.
- The target URL and the viewport dimensions you configured.
- The response status, any error details, and the returned image dimensions.
- A short description of where the image stops and whether the missing page content had appeared by capture time.
- A minimal reproducible example, if you can provide one.
Never include a live API key in a public issue or support message. Abstract’s product page describes use cases such as device QA, recurring website snapshots, embedded previews, and monitoring placements; those use cases do not determine why a particular capture is truncated.

Or skip the browser setup
If you want to try a separate screenshot API rather than continue debugging Abstract, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. The request below captures the page as a WebP; consult the ScreenshotNeo documentation for its options.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://www.abstractapi.com/api/website-screenshot-api -o shot.webp
import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://www.abstractapi.com/api/website-screenshot-api"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://www.abstractapi.com/api/website-screenshot-api' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before the shot; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.

Does the Cloudflare screenshot API documentation confirm Abstract’s REST parameter names?
No. Cloudflare’s documentation describes its own browser-rendering screenshot controls; it provides context for capture scope and timing, not Abstract’s API contract.
