How the annual policy works
AANT describes Annual Multi-Trip as one policy covering unlimited trips during a 12-month period. You select a maximum duration of 30, 45 or 60 days for each trip. The duration on your Certificate of Insurance is the one that applies. AANT says sums insured are reinstated after each trip is completed; that does not mean every type of loss is covered or that unused limits accumulate. Trip length matters more than trip count
The annual format may suit someone planning several separate trips, provided every trip stays within the selected maximum duration. A trip longer than that limit is outside the product’s stated target market. Check the Certificate of Insurance rather than assuming that choosing an annual policy automatically covers any length of journey.

Domestic trips have a distance threshold and medical boundary
AANT’s target market describes multiple leisure trips more than 250 km from home. A domestic journey within 250 km does not meet that stated target market. In addition, medical, hospital, dental and evacuation expenses are not covered for the Australian portion of a trip. Do not treat this as domestic medical insurance.
Check the planned activities and itinerary
Ocean cruising requires the optional extra, while international and domestic river cruising are included automatically according to the policy summary. Winter sports also require optional cover. Open-water sailing is excluded unless the vessel remains within 12 nautical miles of land; consult the PDS wording to determine how it applies to your specific route. Check that your destinations and activities are declared and that the relevant options appear on your Certificate of Insurance.

What the headline benefits do—and do not—tell you
AANT’s current Summary of Cover/PDS lists a $15,000 luggage section limit per adult and 24-hour emergency assistance. The luggage figure is a section limit, not an amount payable for each item: item limits, exclusions, conditions and other terms apply. Emergency assistance being available around the clock does not mean every expense will automatically be reimbursed. Check the full policy wording for the applicable benefit, sub-limit and eligibility conditions.

Eligibility, medical needs and exclusions
The Target Market Determination (TMD) describes the intended customer as someone who meets eligibility criteria, travels for leisure, and takes multiple trips more than 250 km from home over 12 months. It says the product is not designed for corporate or business travel, domestic trips within 250 km, trips exceeding the selected duration, or travellers needing cover for certain conditions or activities that are not covered. Review the AANT Target Market Determination alongside the PDS.
Do not assume a medical condition is covered simply because the policy can be purchased. Check the current PDS and quote process for how conditions are assessed, what must be disclosed and whether the cover offered meets your needs. The Certificate of Insurance records the policy selections relevant to your purchase; confirm it before travelling.

A practical checklist before choosing
- List every planned trip over the policy year, including its dates, destination and duration.
- Check that each trip fits within the selected 30-, 45- or 60-day maximum shown on the Certificate of Insurance.
- For domestic travel, confirm the journey is more than 250 km from home and account for the absence of medical, hospital, dental and evacuation cover on the Australian portion.
- Identify ocean cruises, winter sports and sailing, then verify the required options and relevant PDS terms.
- Review the PDS limits, item sub-limits, exclusions, conditions and excess against the belongings and expenses you may need covered.
- Check eligibility and the policy wording for medical conditions, then confirm destinations, options and selected limits on the Certificate of Insurance.
- Compare like-for-like quotes if price is decisive; do not infer savings from the annual format or advertised member discount.
What this review can establish
The official product materials describe a clear annual structure, a choice of per-trip duration, activity options and specific limits and boundaries. They do not establish claims outcomes, customer satisfaction, or value for a particular traveller.
