It may be worth joining if your readers are already comparing hosting and you can reach eligible new customers. The current official offer is presented on hosting.com’s affiliate page: eligible core hosting sales earn 50% of the customer’s first invoice, capped at $400. But commissions are not recurring, require 45 days for approval, and must reach $100 before payout. Official FAQ and policy pages still refer to A2 Hosting, so the current offer does not by itself confirm that every legacy A2 affiliate account or tracking setup has migrated.
Is the A2 Hosting affiliate program still active?
The current public affiliate offer is on hosting.com’s website, while its affiliate FAQ and policy still include A2 Hosting references. It is reasonable to describe the offer as the current hosting.com program associated with A2 Hosting, but public pages do not establish whether legacy A2 accounts and tracking have fully migrated. If you already have an A2 affiliate account, check its status and tracking details with the program before relying on it.

The official offer page lists commission rates by product category:

|---|---|---|
| Shared hosting, managed WordPress, managed VPS, unmanaged Linux VPS, AI application hosting, and Node.js hosting | 50%, up to $400 per sale | Eligible customer’s first invoice |
| Reseller hosting, Windows hosting, and domains | 20% | First invoice |
The current offer page and commission explanation say the calculation uses the first invoice amount, excluding tax, fees, and checkout credits. The rates are advertised terms, not a forecast of what an affiliate will earn: no verified average order value, conversion rate, cancellation rate, or audience-specific results are established by the public materials.

How and when are affiliates paid?
The official FAQ states that an affiliate needs $100 in approved commissions to trigger payment. Once the threshold is reached, payment is scheduled for the next 15th. Commissions remain subject to a 45-day approval period and an active, compliant customer sale. The affiliate policy, last updated August 28, 2026, says balances below the threshold carry over for up to 18 months and payments are made in U.S. dollars.
That timing matters for cash flow: a referred purchase is not immediately available as approved earnings, and a small balance may wait until it reaches the minimum. The FAQ says joining is free and does not require you to be a hosting customer.

Which referrals qualify—and what is excluded?
Under the official policy, a commission requires an eligible purchase by a new customer made through your unique tracking URL. Renewals do not qualify, so this is a first-invoice acquisition model rather than recurring affiliate revenue.
- New customers: eligible purchases can qualify when correctly attributed through your unique link.
- Renewals: excluded from commission.
- Self-referrals: prohibited by the policy.
- Approval: the 45-day period applies, subject to the customer remaining active and the sale complying with program rules.
The public official sources cited here do not establish a current cookie duration. Do not use a cookie-window claim from an older third-party directory as a current program term.

What promotion rules should you know?
The policy prohibits bidding on hosting.com or A2 Hosting trademark terms, including variations and misspellings, unless the program has expressly authorized it in writing. If paid search is central to your plan, get written authorization before using branded queries. Affiliates must also provide appropriate disclosures and follow applicable advertising and consumer-protection laws.
Is it worth joining for your audience?
A reasonable fit
- Your readers are already evaluating web hosting or related services and are close to making a purchase.
- You can explain plan trade-offs accurately and make a credible recommendation rather than relying on a commission headline.
- You can bring in qualified new customers and tolerate delayed approval and a minimum payout threshold.
A weak fit
- Your audience has little hosting-buying intent.
- Your business case depends on commissions from renewals.
- Your promotion strategy depends on bidding on A2 Hosting or hosting.com branded searches without written permission.
The offer’s 50% rate can sound substantial, but it applies to an eligible first invoice, is capped for core categories, and says nothing on its own about how many referred sales will convert or remain eligible. The official pages provide no basis for estimating a typical affiliate’s monthly income.
Rank #4
How should you assess the headline commission?
Use the first invoice—not a customer’s lifetime subscription spend—as the basis for evaluating the offer. The published calculation excludes tax, fees, and checkout credits, and the core-category commission is capped at $400. The public terms therefore do not support multiplying the headline percentage by renewals or assuming a particular monthly return.

For a comparison with another hosting program, the useful measures are first-invoice rate and cap, whether renewals qualify, eligible products, approval and cancellation rules, payout threshold and schedule, officially stated cookie duration, and brand-bidding restrictions.

What about older A2 Hosting payout claims?
A 2008 A2 Hosting press release reported historical fixed payouts of $50 to $100 depending on the hosting package. Those figures are not the current rate. A third-party directory also publishes different tiered payout and cookie-duration claims, but those claims conflict with the current official offer and do not establish today’s terms. For current rates and rules, rely on hosting.com’s affiliate offer, FAQ, and policy.
