A Game About Digging A Hole Together is a multiplayer follow-up to A Game About Digging A Hole, built around digging for resources, selling finds, upgrading equipment, and searching for treasure with friends. Announced on September 30, 2026, it is planned for PC and several consoles, but it is not yet available and Steam lists its release date as “To be announced.”
How does A Game About Digging A Hole Together play?
The sequel moves the digging loop to a new plot of land described on Steam as a beach. Players dig down, collect resources, sell what they find, improve their equipment, and keep digging in search of buried treasure. The publisher says it adds more depth, terrain, tools, hidden items, and underground secrets.

That familiar loop is paired with cooperative play. The publisher says you can dig with up to three friends, while Steam lists online co-op and cross-platform multiplayer. Steam also lists single-player. The store page does not specify which platform combinations support cross-play, so players planning to team up across different systems will need to check for those details closer to launch.
Which platforms are planned, and when can you play?
rokaplay announced plans for PC through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Xbox on PC, as well as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. These are announced platform plans, not confirmation that the game is already available on each system. Steam currently offers a wishlist option but marks the game as unavailable and gives its release date as “To be announced.” The publisher’s “later this year” wording does not establish a specific launch date.

rokaplay says Mi’pu’mi Games GmbH rebuilt the game’s code and that the studio’s digging and voxel technology originated in an early version of Solarpunk. Those are publisher statements; the available sources do not provide independent performance testing, so they do not establish how reliably or smoothly the game will run.

The publisher describes the original A Game About Digging A Hole as a vacation project made in a few weeks by one developer that went viral. In the same September 30, 2026 announcement, rokaplay says the first game reached the top 30 on Steam charts and sold more than one million copies. That sales figure is the publisher’s claim; the announcement does not provide independent verification.
