Lawrence found the machine noisy while it ran, although the party itself made the sound less noticeable. Countertop ice makers produce ice in batches and deposit it in a finite basket. A manufacturer’s pounds-per-day figure describes rated production over time; it does not mean that amount is waiting in the basket at once. If you need a larger supply for guests, allow time for batches to accumulate and plan for the basket to fill and need emptying.

- Noise and counter space: Lawrence noticed operating noise. The story does not provide a measured sound level or dimensions, so check the specific model’s documentation and make sure you have room where it will run.

Tom’s Guide also links to an Euhomy countertop ice maker, but that is a separate shopping recommendation—not the machine she says she used. Is a countertop ice maker worth keeping on hand?
For Lawrence, the answer is a qualified yes: she sees the machine as a standby for parties, but says she will keep using traditional ice cube molds for everyday freezing. That distinction fits the machine’s practical role. It can provide fresh batches when a gathering outlasts the ice in the freezer, while its basket, refill needs, operating noise, and batch-by-batch pace still matter when planning ahead.
