They are front-end templates, not complete authentication systems: a working login still needs server-side logic or an authentication provider. Compare the sign-in flow, implementation, mobile behavior, and license—not just the screenshot—before choosing one.
What is included in the 73-template roundup?
Colorlib’s roundup, published September 28, 2026, counts 73 entries across several sources: 10 new Colorlib pages for 2026, 61 earlier Colorlib forms, and 10 uiCookies screens. It also discusses a WordPress plugin for restyling the WordPress admin login. Because those group counts do not all describe the same kind of item, treat 73 as the roundup’s stated total rather than 73 interchangeable, newly released Colorlib templates. See the Colorlib roundup.

The new designs include split-screen layouts, passkey and magic-link options, SSO, glassmorphism, identity-first two-step sign-in, one-time codes, a mobile-app-style screen, an illustrated form, an enterprise console, and a combined login/sign-up card. The range is useful because the right choice depends on how people authenticate and what the product needs—not simply which design looks most polished.

Choose a template by sign-in pattern and interface
| Pattern or layout | Consider it when | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Password form | Your service uses a conventional username or email and password flow. | Field labels, password visibility, password-manager support, paste behavior, and clear errors. |
| Passkey or magic link | Your authentication system supports passwordless sign-in. | The demo control is only a visual starting point; connect it to a real passkey or email-link flow. |
| SSO or enterprise console | Users sign in through a company identity provider. | Connect the button to the provider and configuration your organization actually uses. |
| Two-step or one-time code | Your authentication flow asks for identity first or requires a verification code. | Design for the complete sequence, including code entry, errors, and recovery—not only the first screen. |
| Combined login and sign-up | People may need to choose between creating an account and returning to one. | Keep the two actions easy to distinguish and connect each to the correct flow. |
| Split screen, illustration, glass effect, dark, or mobile-app style | The visual treatment should fit a product, brand, or device context. | Check readability, responsive behavior, contrast, and whether the layout still works on a small screen. |
Colorlib describes one V07 demo with 58 px fields. That is a detail of that example, not a universal requirement or independently tested accessibility standard. Colorlib’s roundup discusses these designs and its usability recommendations.

Do you need Bootstrap or jQuery?
Colorlib says its templates use HTML and CSS with a small amount of vanilla JavaScript, do not require jQuery or Bootstrap files, and can be used standalone or inside Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 projects. Check the individual download and its files before integrating it into a particular project; the roundup’s compatibility description is not a guarantee that every template has identical dependencies.
If you specifically want a Bootstrap 5 implementation, MDBootstrap offers a separate free login-page template and login-form component examples. Its template page states an MIT license. Review the current page and linked code before reuse, since template contents and license terms can change. MDBootstrap’s free login page template and Bootstrap 5 login form component.

Are the templates free for commercial use?
Colorlib says its own templates may be used for personal and commercial projects under CC BY 3.0 if the Colorlib credit link is retained. The uiCookies collection and WordPress plugin have separate terms; do not assume Colorlib’s stated license applies to them. Check the license attached to the specific download, including attribution requirements, before adapting or redistributing it. The Colorlib/puikinsh Modern Login Forms repository is another place to inspect the available code and its accompanying terms.

No. A template supplies the page’s presentation and, depending on the download, some front-end behavior. It does not verify credentials or create a secure account system by itself. Form submission, password checks, HTTPS, session handling, and connections to identity providers belong to the application’s backend or authentication service.

Colorlib explicitly says social sign-in, passkey, Face ID, and SSO buttons shown in its 2026 demos are simulated and need to be connected to a real provider. Treat a working-looking demo as an interface example, not proof that the underlying authentication method is implemented.

How to adapt a login template safely and usefully
- Choose the actual authentication flow. Decide whether users will sign in with passwords, a passkey, a magic link, a company provider, or a multi-step flow. Confirm that your backend or identity provider supports it before choosing a design built around it.
- Inspect the download and its terms. Identify its HTML, CSS, JavaScript, dependencies, and license. Keep required attribution and do not transfer one collection’s license to another.
- Connect the form to real authentication logic. Replace demo actions with your application’s submission and provider integrations. Handle requests and credentials securely on the server or through the authentication service; a visual form alone does not provide those protections.
- Make the fields work well with assistive and browser tools. Use appropriate autocomplete attributes, allow password pasting, make labels and errors clear, and ensure keyboard users can reach and operate controls.
- Check errors without exposing account status. Show useful field-level feedback, but avoid different login messages that reveal whether a particular email address has an account.
- Test the full experience on mobile. Confirm the layout reflows, text and controls remain readable, and touch targets are practical. Colorlib recommends large touch targets; its V07 field-size example is a design-specific detail, not a universal benchmark.
How to choose between the options
- Start with the authentication pattern: a password form is not a substitute for an SSO or verification-code flow.
- Match the design to the product: a split-screen, illustration, or glass effect changes presentation, not authentication capability.
- Fit the implementation to your stack: use the plain HTML/CSS approach if you want a standalone starting point, or choose a Bootstrap-specific component when that fits your project.
- Review mobile and accessibility behavior: check keyboard operation, password-manager autofill, paste, field errors, and small-screen layout in the actual implementation.
- Confirm reuse rights: verify the specific asset’s license and any attribution before using it in a commercial project.
- Plan the backend connection: select a design only after confirming how its controls will reach your real authentication system.
