The Samsung QA65S85HAEXXY is Samsung Australia’s 2026 65-inch S85H OLED 4K TV. Its published specifications make it a capable fit for 4K/120 Hz gaming setups, while independent reviews of the S85H family describe a balanced picture with less brightness than the S85F. The important qualification: the available performance measurements come from a reviewed S85H, not a verified test of this exact Australian model number.

What is the Samsung QA65S85HAEXXY?

Samsung Australia identifies QA65S85HAEXXY as the 65-inch S85H OLED 4K Smart TV for 2026. Its resolution is 3840 × 2160 pixels. Samsung lists a 100 Hz native refresh rate and support for 120 Hz VRR. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. Samsung Australia’s product page also lists anti-reflection, OLED HDR, HDR10+, Filmmaker Mode and an NQ4 AI Gen2 processor.

Samsung describes its OLED picture as offering “deep blacks, clean whites and a full range of lively colours.” That is the manufacturer’s description, rather than a measured finding. The product page showed a 4.8 rating from 93 reviews in the retrieved listing content; Samsung notes that some reviews may be incentivized, so this owner feedback should not be treated as a substitute for controlled picture or latency measurements. How good is the S85H’s picture?

Tom’s Guide tested an S85H and reported 470 nits of SDR brightness and 770 nits of HDR brightness, each measured on a 10% window. It also measured 97.5% UHDA-P3 color-gamut coverage. Those results suggest a strong OLED picture, but they describe that publication’s reviewed S85H; the review does not establish that its test unit was the Australian QA65S85HAEXXY. Tom’s Guide’s S85H review, dated July 3, 2026.

For practical buying decisions, room light matters: a TV that is less bright than a competing model may be less compelling in a sunlit room than in a dimmer viewing space. Tom’s Guide found the S85H less bright than the S85F in its comparison. It described the S85H as balanced for gaming and viewing, while its comparison also considered the LG B6 and Samsung S90F as alternatives with their own tradeoffs in brightness, color accuracy and gaming features. These are review-context findings, not a universal ranking. Check current Australian pricing and the precise model variants before deciding which offers better value. Tom’s Guide

Is the QA65S85HAEXXY good for gaming?

On paper, it covers the key features expected for current console and PC setups: Samsung lists four HDMI inputs with maximum 4K 120 Hz input, VRR, FreeSync Premium, G-SYNC, HGiG, ALLM and a Game Bar. Tom’s Guide measured 9.2 ms of input latency on the S85H it tested, but that figure is not a verified result for every QA65S85HAEXXY unit. Samsung Australia; Tom’s Guide

  • For a recent console: Samsung’s listed 4K 120 Hz input, VRR and ALLM are relevant if your console and game support those features.
  • For a gaming PC: The stated FreeSync Premium and G-SYNC support may help match variable-refresh output from compatible graphics hardware. Confirm the exact mode and connection requirements for your setup.
  • For HDR games: HGiG is included in Samsung’s feature list; whether it is useful depends on the game and how you configure HDR.

These capabilities describe support, not a guarantee that every device, game or connection will use every feature simultaneously. Consult Samsung’s product specifications and the documentation for your source device when planning a setup.

What connections and mounting options does it have?

Samsung lists four HDMI inputs, two USB-A ports, Ethernet, optical audio out, eARC, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. The HDMI and eARC combination can suit a setup with consoles or a PC alongside an eARC-compatible soundbar or receiver; check the port labels and equipment manuals when connecting devices. Samsung lists support for Slim Fit and Full Motion Slim wall mounts, but the cited specification does not identify a particular compatible mount model. Samsung Australia

Should you buy the Samsung QA65S85HAEXXY?

It is a reasonable candidate if you want a 65-inch OLED with the listed 4K/120 Hz gaming features and your room does not demand the highest possible brightness. The S85H family has supportive review commentary, alongside Tom’s Guide’s finding that it was less bright than the S85F. A firm value verdict is not possible from these sources alone: they do not establish a current Australian price comparison or an independent lab test of this exact SKU. Compare the price you can actually buy it for against specific alternatives, and weigh brightness, picture preferences and the gaming features you will use.

Samsung lists security updates through December 31, 2031. That is the manufacturer’s published support period for the product page, not a statement about future software features or app availability. Samsung Australia
