Five cordless tools cover most routine yard work: mowing and edging, string trimming, clearing leaves, shaping hedges, and light pruning. RYOBI’s official 18V ONE+ and Outdoor Power collection pages list one candidate for each of those jobs. This guide matches each candidate to the task it fits. It does not argue that every household needs all five. The idea that these belong in every garage is marketing framing, not something the catalog establishes, so treat the list as a set of jobs to check against your own yard.
Start with the job, not the garage
Mowing, trimming, blowing, hedge shaping and cutting woody material are different jobs, and each calls for a different tool. A small lawn with a few borders may need only the first two. A yard with several shrubs or a lot of fallen leaves justifies the others. Before you buy, write down the jobs you do most often and the largest area or branch you handle. That list matters more than the number five.

The five tools and who each one suits
1. RYOBI 12-inch 3-in-1 Mower/String Trimmer/Edger (PCLST05B)
This model combines mowing, string trimming and edging in one unit, listed in RYOBI’s 18V ONE+ collection. It suits a small lawn where swapping functions is less effort than owning three separate tools. Do not assume it can replace a full-size mower on every lawn. Compare its 12-inch cut width against the lawn you actually mow.

This is a dedicated trimmer and edger, also in the 18V ONE+ collection. It makes more sense than the combination tool if you already own a mower, or if you want one job done with one tool. Its cutting width and edging function are the two specifications to compare.

3. RYOBI 220 CFM Compact Blower (PSBLB01B)
This blower is aimed at routine cleanup of loose leaves, clippings and light debris on patios, driveways and paths, and it appears in RYOBI’s broader Outdoor Power collection. The 220 CFM figure is part of the product name and reflects the manufacturer’s airflow rating. It is not an independent measurement of how the blower performs on your debris. Check the product page for weight and any noise figure; this guide does not assess either.
4. RYOBI 24-inch HP Brushless Hedge Trimmer Kit (PBLHG01K)
This kit is for shrubs and hedges you can reach from the ground, and it is also listed in the Outdoor Power collection. The 24-inch figure is blade length. It helps you compare hedge size, but it is not a proxy for overall performance. If your hedges are tall or you would rather not work from a ladder, the 18-inch Pole Hedge Trimmer (PCLPHG01B), listed in the 18V ONE+ collection, is the pole-style alternative for overhead reach.
5. RYOBI 10-inch HP Brushless Chainsaw (PBLCW01B)
This saw fits light pruning: dead limbs, small branches and cutting back shrubs. It is not a tool for felling trees or cutting firewood. If your tasks involve larger material, this saw will not replace larger equipment. Read the manual’s safety section before the first cut and use the protective gear it specifies.

Rank #3
- Stens replacement parts have become a favorite among lawn and landscape professionals thanks to exceptional performance.
Before you buy
- Confirm the package. Two of the five models are listed as tool only, which means no battery or charger. Check whether the product page includes either for the others.
- Check battery compatibility by model. RYOBI’s Outdoor Power collection also lists batteries, chargers and replacement accessories. Compatibility varies by model, so confirm it on the product page before buying a second tool or spare battery.
- Verify the battery platform. Four of the models appear in the 18V ONE+ collection. The blower and hedge kit are listed under Outdoor Power, so confirm each one’s platform on its own page.
- Expect prices and stock to change. Collection pages show prices for some models, and those figures move. Check the live listing on RYOBI’s site on the day you buy.
How to choose
List your three most frequent yard jobs and buy for those first. A homeowner who mows a small lawn and clears leaves may be well served by the combination tool and the blower. Someone with mature shrubs and no mower might start with the hedge options. Add the chainsaw only if your pruning consistently involves small branches. Buying in order of frequency keeps the purchase tied to real work rather than to the idea of a complete set.

This guide is based on RYOBI’s collection listings and product names, not on hands-on testing. It does not rank the models, and it makes no claims about runtime, cutting performance, durability or noise. Use the product page and manual for those details.
