John Stewart, Jessica Cruz, Saint Walker, Larfleeze, Kyle Rayner and Sinestro would give a future DC game a roster spanning grounded heroics, cosmic spectacle and sharply different Lantern powers. These are suggestions, not announced characters: neither a new Green Lantern game nor a future Injustice roster is confirmed.
What is—and isn’t—known about the next DC game
The five picks come from Matthew Danielson’s October 5, 2026 opinion roundup at ComicBook.com. The article imagines that the success of Lanterns could encourage more Green Lantern characters in a future DC game, while noting rumors of Injustice 3. It does not report a confirmed game, roster, or character appearance. The roles below are game-design pitches, not announcements.

The appeal of the lineup is its range: two potential Earth-based leads, a mentor, an unconventional boss or fighter, a creatively flexible hero, and a villain who can challenge the heroes’ beliefs.

Danielson proposes John Stewart as a possible lead, pointing to his prominence in Lanterns and animated Justice League. A focused, Earth-based adventure built around him could offer a more personal entry point than a story that immediately spans the galaxy. That is a pitch for the game’s setting and structure, not a description of an announced project.
#1 Best Overall
- Officially licensed Green Lantern figure by DC
- Bendable and posable to display your way
- This highly detailed figure is approximately 7.5” tall
- Get your hands on them to experience all the fun!
- For kids, fans, and collectors ages 7+
Jessica Cruz could join as a second selectable protagonist rather than simply duplicate John’s role. DC’s Green Lanterns: Rebirth #1 identifies Jessica and Simon Baz as rookie Green Lanterns tackling threats on Earth. That comic provides a factual basis for an Earth-focused story; choosing Jessica as a co-lead remains Danielson’s proposal.
In play, two protagonists could create room for distinct perspectives and missions while keeping the scale approachable. The key would be giving Jessica her own character arc and gameplay identity, not treating her as an alternate skin.

Saint Walker: a mentor for a cosmic role-playing story
Saint Walker, a Blue Lantern, is Danielson’s suggestion for an ally who could mentor the player, provide quests, or help introduce a role-playing game’s systems. The article also floats him as a potentially unusual fighter in a hypothetical Injustice 3. Either use would make him more distinctive than another straightforward combatant: a mentor role could connect his comic characterization around hope and pacifism to the player’s choices and progression.
Those are interpretations of his comic persona and possible game functions, not established game details. DC’s Green Lantern: Brightest Day listing includes Saint Walker among the Lantern characters involved in the collected story.

Larfleeze: a boss who could become a playable wildcard
Larfleeze offers a different kind of presence: Danielson describes the Orange Lantern as driven by greed and associated with singular power. That characterization lends itself to a boss encounter with a strong visual identity, but it need not limit the character to an enemy. He could also become a playable fighter or a source of information in a larger cosmic plot.
Making him playable would mean turning that unusual personality into more than a set of attacks—perhaps by making his self-interest affect how he interacts with allies or objectives. Those are design possibilities, not reported features. DC’s Green Lantern: Brightest Day listing also includes Larfleeze.
Rank #4

- Green Lantern comes with a Light Projection backpack and Light Projection boxing glove

Kyle Rayner: the imaginative option
Kyle Rayner’s appeal is the possibility of making constructs feel expressive and surprising. Danielson points to Kyle’s creative approach, his origin in the aftermath of Hal Jordan’s Parallax turn, and his later association with the White Lantern role. A game could draw on his Green Lantern identity or use a White Lantern version; neither option is confirmed.
DC’s Green Lantern: Kyle Rayner Vol. 1 describes a new Green Lantern emerging when artist Kyle receives the last power ring. For a broader comic introduction, DC’s Green Lantern by Geoff Johns Book One collects Green Lantern: Rebirth #1–6, alongside other stories, and features Kyle, John Stewart and Sinestro. It is comics background, not a game tie-in.

Sinestro: the clearest ideological foil
Danielson casts Sinestro as a possible antagonist or reluctant ally. His yellow ring and fear-based Corps offer a direct contrast with Green Lantern protagonists, giving a story a conflict about more than who can build the bigger construct. A game could let that opposition drive the plot, or complicate it by making cooperation necessary against a larger threat.
That role is speculative, not confirmation that Sinestro will appear in a future game. DC’s Green Lantern: Brightest Day listing places him alongside Saint Walker and Larfleeze, while DC’s Green Lantern: Rebirth #1 listing features him in the wider Green Lantern story.
Why these five fit together
The strongest case for the lineup is contrast rather than sheer roster size. John and Jessica could anchor an Earth-level story; Saint Walker could connect players to a broader cosmic conflict; Larfleeze could make that conflict stranger; Kyle could bring imaginative range to combat; and Sinestro could put the heroes’ principles under pressure.

DC’s description of Green Lantern: Rebirth #1 says: “The fates of Kyle Rayner, John Stewart, Guy Gardner, and the rest of the Green Lantern mythology unfold in this colossal tale of heroism involving the entire DCU!” That is DC’s description of a comic, not evidence about a game. It does, however, reflect why these characters can support stories at different scales.
