How to match a desk to your room and equipment
Measure the whole setup, not just the desktop

Check that the monitor can sit where you want it without squeezing the keyboard and mouse area. A monitor arm can change where the screen sits, but first confirm clamp compatibility and usable edge space.

Choose fixed or adjustable height for a reason
A fixed-height desk can be a practical choice when its height works with your chair and seated position. An electric desk adds sitting-to-standing adjustment, but also adds cost; some models offer only a limited number of presets. A standing desk by itself is not evidence of protection from health problems or a guarantee of better posture.
Check load capacity and stability for your actual gear

Decide how you will route cables and power
