That means they are not among the six announced entrants—not that they have all been left off the entire October 10 event card.
Who qualified for the men’s Money in the Bank match?
WWE’s announced six-man field is Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Penta, CM Punk and Kevin Owens. The match is part of Money in the Bank 2026, scheduled for October 10 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. WWE’s official match page records the field and the qualifying results.
Here are five notable wrestlers who did not make that field. “Biggest” is a judgment about star prominence, not an official WWE ranking or a measured popularity list.
Five prominent stars not in the match
1. Cody Rhodes
Rhodes lost the final qualifying match to Kevin Owens, who also defeated Johnny Gargano to take the last place. That result left Rhodes outside the six-man ladder match.

2. Randy Orton
Orton had qualified earlier, but he is not in WWE’s final six-person field. WWE’s recap says he interfered in the final qualifier to keep Rhodes from winning. The official match page does not explain the subsequent change to Orton’s status, so the confirmed point is that he is absent from the final field.
3. Gunther
Gunther did not advance from his qualifier, which CM Punk won against Gunther and Finn Bálor. Punk took the place in the ladder match.

4. Finn Bálor
Bálor was also in the qualifier won by Punk, alongside Gunther. He did not advance to the announced match.
5. Rey Mysterio
Mysterio did not qualify in the triple-threat match won by Bron Breakker, which also included Ethan Page. WWE’s recap also lists Mysterio as an opponent in Trick Williams’ qualifying match, which Williams won against Orton and Rey Fenix.
Does “left off Money in the Bank” mean they are off the whole card?
No. The evidence here establishes who is missing from the men’s ladder match, not that these wrestlers have no role anywhere on the event. WWE has separately announced Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight for the World Heavyweight Championship and Oba Femi vs. Bronson Reed. It does not establish an additional match for any of the five names above in the cited card information.

WWE announced the event for Saturday, October 10, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, after moving it one month later than originally announced. WWE describes the briefcase as a contract for a championship match at a time and place of the holder’s choosing within the next year. See WWE’s event announcement.
