PlayStation system software version 26.06-14.00.00 adds four notable changes for PS5 consoles: an enhanced PSSR image-quality setting on PS5 Pro, a voice-chat speaker indicator, a Community Activity widget in the Welcome Hub, and changed behavior when Bluetooth is disabled in certain regions. The PSSR option is exclusive to PS5 Pro; the other listed features are described for PS5 consoles generally. These details come from a Reddit post reproducing update notes and linking to PlayStation Support; the official changelog was not independently verified here.
Enhanced PSSR image quality on PS5 Pro
The update adds an option to apply enhanced PSSR image quality, including in games that already supported the previous PSSR version. According to the reproduced notes, the setting turns on automatically after installation. It is for PS5 Pro only; it does not add this option to other PS5 models.

To change it, go to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > Enhance PSSR Image Quality and turn it off if you prefer not to use it. The notes describe the setting but do not provide a measured image-quality gain or a game-by-game comparison.
See who is speaking in voice chat
A new voice-chat indicator can show which participant is speaking on screen. To configure it, open the voice chat card in Control Center and select More > Display Who’s Speaking. Enable Display Names, then use Position to choose where the indicator appears.

Community Activity arrives in the Welcome Hub
The Welcome Hub gains a Community Activity widget with two lists for discovering multiplayer activity:
- Trending Now: ten multiplayer games or modes described as surging in popularity.
- Top 10: ten popular games from the past week for the user’s country or region.
The reproduced notes do not specify how popularity is measured, so the lists are best understood as discovery features rather than a published ranking methodology.

Bluetooth-off behavior in certain regions
In regions where the described Bluetooth setting is available, disabling Bluetooth through the specified settings path has two practical consequences: the console will not enter rest mode, and HDMI Device Link will not function. The notes say the setting is intended for managing controller connections at esports venues and similar locations, not as an everyday Bluetooth toggle.
