Choose by the exact formulation, the property your part needs, and that filament’s print guidance; the materials do not share a universal “reinforced ABS” profile.
Aramid-filled ABS and carbon-fiber ABS are different materials
Spectrum describes ABS Kevlar as ABS containing aramid fibers. CarbonX ABS+CF and AON3D Carbon Fiber ABS are carbon-fiber-reinforced ABS products. These examples establish two distinct formulations, not a single product containing both aramid and carbon fiber. See the Spectrum ABS Kevlar product page, 3DXTech CarbonX ABS+CF, and AON3D’s 2025 Carbon Fiber ABS data sheet.

Reinforcement does not guarantee identical behavior across brands. Spectrum describes its aramid ABS in terms of rigidity, impact strength, mechanical strength, and layer lamination. AON3D says its carbon-fiber ABS has less warpage and improved dimensional stability than its standard ABS. Treat these as claims about those specific products, not every filament containing the same fiber.
Compare the products and their evidence—not just headline numbers
The published figures below come from different products, dates, and methods. They are not a head-to-head test, so they cannot establish which material is universally stronger or better.
#1 Best Overall
- Engineering Filament: CR-ABS has excellent impact resistance and heat resistance. A widely used thermoplastic engineering plastic
- Good result of printing: Compared with ordinary ABS, the printing of large objects with edges and corners, layer separation, warping, splitting and other phenomena are obviously improved, the solution has strong fluidity, and the printing is smooth
- Non-toxic & compatibility: In the process of printing model, no harmful substances emission, safe and non-toxic. Simple operation, good compatible with all FDM printers of Creality
- Good physical performance: Tough, hard, rigid, no layer separation or warped edges. Excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance, good dimensional stability
- Creality Support: Creality provides 12-month & 24 hours after-sales service. Note: Please place this product in a dry and ventilated environment, not in an environment of high temperature, sunny or humid conditions

| Spectrum ABS Kevlar | 2,350 MPa tensile modulus | Spectrum’s 2022 technical data sheet; values are for reference and comparison, not design specifications or quality-control limits. Spectrum technical data sheet. |
| AON3D Carbon Fiber ABS | 3,396 MPa tensile modulus; 36.7 MPa tensile strength; 18 kJ/m² Charpy impact resistance; 108°C glass-transition temperature | The 2025 sheet reports tensile results for printed specimens using ISO 527-2/5A/50, Charpy resistance using ISO 179-1/1eA, and the glass-transition value as a filament property with its stated method. AON3D calls the data indicative and notes production conditions can affect them. AON3D data sheet. |
| UltiMaker Method-series ABS Carbon Fiber | 42 J/m impact strength; 59 MPa tensile strength; 102°C heat deflection | Figures listed on UltiMaker’s product page for this material; they are not generic carbon-fiber ABS values. The page also lists a 500 g spool and 1.75 mm filament diameter. UltiMaker product page. |
For a functional part, start with the failure mode that matters: stiffness, impact behavior, heat response, or dimensional stability. Then check the test method, specimen preparation and orientation where supplied, and the manufacturer’s caveats. A value measured on a printed specimen does not guarantee the same performance in a part with different geometry, layer direction, or print conditions.
Use product-specific print settings
These manufacturer recommendations are starting points for the named filaments, not interchangeable presets. Confirm current documentation for the spool and printer before printing.

| Filament | Manufacturer starting guidance | Important notes |
|---|---|---|
| Spectrum ABS Kevlar | Nozzle 250–270°C; bed 100°C; cooling 0–25%; speed 30–70 mm/s | Spectrum’s guidance is based on a 0.4 mm nozzle; its sheet says conditions vary with geometry. A hardened or ruby nozzle is recommended. Spectrum technical data sheet. |
| 3DXTech CarbonX ABS+CF | Extruder 220–240°C; bed 100–110°C; layer height 0.25 mm or higher | A heated chamber is recommended. 3DXTech recommends a hardened-steel nozzle of at least 0.4 mm and warns that abrasive filament wears nozzles over time. 3DXTech product page. |
| AON3D Carbon Fiber ABS | Nozzle 245–260°C; bed 90–95°C; speed 50–60 mm/s | These are the parameters in AON3D’s 2025 sheet and apply to its own material and protocol. AON3D data sheet. |
Check nozzle wear and printer compatibility
For its CarbonX ABS+CF, 3DXTech recommends a hardened-steel nozzle and says abrasive filament wears nozzles over time. That advice is specific to the product, but it highlights a practical issue with carbon-fiber-filled filament: verify the nozzle material, diameter, and format against both the filament maker’s instructions and the printer manufacturer’s documentation. Do not assume a nozzle that fits one printer will fit another.
Before loading a reinforced filament, confirm that the printer can reach the recommended temperatures and provide any required enclosure or heated chamber. Check the build surface and nozzle compatibility as well. A product’s suggested layer height or cooling range may also differ from what another ABS formulation needs.

Choose by the part’s requirements
- If you are considering aramid-filled ABS: evaluate the exact product’s stated impact, rigidity, and mechanical properties, then use its own temperature and cooling guidance.
- If you are considering carbon-fiber ABS: compare the particular filament’s relevant test data and dimensional-stability claims, and account for the nozzle requirements and wear guidance.
- If published numbers appear to conflict: check whether they describe filament or printed specimens, which test method was used, and whether the brands tested comparable specimen orientations and conditions.
- If the manufacturer provides only a general claim: do not convert it into a guaranteed design value. Validate the material in the geometry and print process you intend to use before relying on it for a safety-critical or tightly specified part.
Manufacturer values have limits: Spectrum cautions that its figures vary with printing conditions, model complexity, and environment, and are not design specifications or quality-control limits. AON3D also describes its data as indicative and potentially affected by production conditions. The printed part’s orientation, settings, geometry, and exact formulation all matter.
Quick Recap
Rank #4
- 【Strong & Heat-resistant ABS Filament】- Polymaker ABS filament delivers high strength, impact resistance and heat resistance for durable 3D printed parts. With a Vicat softening temperature of 104°C, it is suitable for functional prints that need to withstand everyday mechanical stress and elevated temperatures.
- 【Low-odor ABS for Better Printing Experience】- Made with specialty bulk-polymerized ABS resin with significantly lower volatile content than traditional ABS resins, Polymaker ABS produces minimal odor during printing while maintaining the durability and mechanical performance expected from ABS filament.
- 【Made for Functional & Mechanical Parts】- This ABS 3D printer filament is suited for functional prototypes, mechanical parts, robotics, tools, fixtures and replacement parts. Its combination of impact resistance, heat resistance and machinability makes it a versatile material for practical projects and engineering applications.
- 【Reliable ABS Printing】- For optimal results, print Polymaker ABS at a nozzle temperature of 245–265°C and bed temperature of 90–100°C with the cooling fan turned off. An enclosed printing chamber is recommended to maintain a stable printing environment and help reduce warping, especially for larger parts.
- 【1.75mm ABS Filament】- 1.75mm ABS filament is vacuum sealed with desiccant to help protect the material from moisture before use. If the filament absorbs moisture, dry at 70°C for approximately 6 hours before printing for more consistent results.
