Amazon’s 2022 Prime Day 3D-printer offers are no longer active. A July 13, 2022 roundup reported discounts on ANYCUBIC, FlashForge, Monoprice and Snapmaker machines, with listed prices from $180 to $1,396. The highlighted deal was the $259.99 ANYCUBIC Mega Pro, an FDM printer bundled with a 1.6W engraving laser.

What Amazon Prime Day 2022 offered

Amazon’s main 48-hour Prime Day event began July 12, 2022, at 3 a.m. EDT and ran through July 13 in the United States and other participating markets. Amazon announced separate later events for India, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt. The printer prices below are historical figures reported by 9to5Toys on July 13, 2022; that roundup marked the offers as expired.

How the highlighted ANYCUBIC Mega Pro differed

The roundup’s top pick, the ANYCUBIC Mega Pro, combined an FDM/extrusion printer with a 1.6W laser module for engraving. The article said the laser could be useful for engraving but likely was not powerful enough for actual cutting. Its $259.99 figure was the reported Prime Day price, compared with a $340–$370 range the article said it normally carried in preceding months.

What that combination means

  • FDM printing uses melted filament and is generally chosen for sturdier prototypes, brackets and larger functional parts.
  • The laser adds a separate engraving capability, but it does not turn the machine into a full cutting system.
  • Using a laser introduces material-safety, ventilation and eye-protection considerations that do not apply in the same way to ordinary filament printing.

FDM versus SLA resin in this list

These deals were not a like-for-like ranking. FDM and SLA resin machines use different materials, workflows and maintenance requirements.

Other notable machines and equipment

Large-format FDM

The ANYCUBIC Kobra Max was listed at $600 against a reported $750 reference price. Its place in the list reflects a large-format FDM option, so build volume may matter more than a simple percentage discount when comparing it with smaller printers.

Resin printers

The Photon Mono 4K ($192 versus $280), Photon Mono X ($360 versus $450) and Photon M3 Max ($1,040 versus $1,300) covered three price levels within ANYCUBIC’s SLA lineup. Buyers would also need to account for resin, cleaning and curing supplies.

Multifunction fabrication

Snapmaker’s $1,396 listing combined FDM printing, laser engraving and CNC functions, with a reported $1,799 reference price. Its higher ticket reflected multiple machine functions rather than a directly comparable print-only specification.

Post-processing accessory

The ANYCUBIC Wash and Cure Station was listed separately at $111 versus $140. It is equipment for resin cleanup and curing, not a 3D printer, so its price should not be compared directly with the printer deals.

How to interpret the discounts

  1. Choose the process first. Decide whether filament-based FDM or resin-based SLA fits the parts, detail and cleanup you expect.
  2. Check the machine’s usable size. Build volume can matter more than the displayed discount if you plan to print large objects.
  3. Count included functions. A laser module or CNC tool changes the machine’s use cases, but it also changes safety, setup and maintenance requirements.
  4. Budget for the complete workflow. Include filament or resin, a Wash and Cure Station for resin work, replacement parts and appropriate ventilation or protective equipment.
  5. Treat the prices as historical. The July 13 roundup stated that the offers had expired; it does not establish current stock, sellers or prices.

Prime Day 2022 scale, according to Amazon

In its July 14, 2022 event retrospective, Amazon reported more than 300 million items purchased worldwide and more than $1.7 billion saved worldwide. Amazon also reported more than 100,000 items purchased per minute globally and more than 60,000 per minute in the United States. Those figures describe the entire event, not 3D-printer sales or savings.
