What types of forms are in the collection?
Colorlib’s article, by Aigars Silkalns and dated September 28, 2026, presents 36 templates. Its examples cover both short, familiar forms and longer task-specific flows. The publisher describes six newer examples alongside its earlier templates; the count and feature descriptions below are Colorlib’s, not independent tests of the downloads.

How should you choose a template?
Start with the information the task requires, not with the design that looks most elaborate. A contact form and a quote request may share a visual style, but the latter can ask for service and budget details. A simple login and a login with extra interaction also have different implementation needs.

- Match the length: Prefer a short single-page form for a small request. Consider a multi-step flow when a longer process is clearer when divided into stages.
- Inspect input behavior: Check whether you need native date or select controls, file uploads, ratings, conditional fields, or visible validation messages. Colorlib’s feature descriptions should be checked against the specific downloaded template.
- Plan integration: Decide how submissions will reach your application before you commit to a front-end design. Styling does not provide a receiving endpoint.
- Check phones and accessibility: Review field stacking at narrow widths, visible labels, error placement, and whether controls remain usable on touch screens.
- Check the individual license: Confirm the applicable terms and attribution requirement for the particular template, especially for the CodePen-hosted example.
Do the templates require Bootstrap or jQuery?
Colorlib says the templates use plain HTML and CSS with small amounts of vanilla JavaScript, can be used without framework files, and can also be placed inside Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 projects. These are the publisher’s compatibility claims; the current files were not independently tested here. Inspect the code and dependencies of the particular download rather than assuming every example behaves identically.

How do you make a template submit a form?
A visual form needs a separate way to receive submissions. Colorlib says its templates do not submit data by themselves and identifies a server endpoint, CMS handler, or form service as possible receiving mechanisms.
- Choose a receiver: Decide which server-side endpoint, CMS handler, or form service should process the submission.
- Connect the form: Adapt the form’s submission target and field names to the receiver’s expected interface. The exact configuration depends on the chosen template and handler.
- Validate on the server: Check submitted values on the receiving side. Browser-side checks can help users catch mistakes, but should not be the only validation.
- Test the full path: Submit representative valid and invalid data and confirm the handler receives the expected fields and returns useful feedback.
What should you inspect when customising fields?
- Request only information needed to complete the task.
- Keep each visible label associated with its input identifier.
- Use native date or select controls where they suit the task and supported browsers.
- Show validation errors close to the field that needs correction.
- Check responsive behavior on a phone-width layout, not only on desktop.
What are the stated license terms?
Colorlib says its templates are free for personal and commercial use under CC BY 3.0 if the credit link is retained. The article says the CodePen-hosted login example follows CodePen terms instead. Those license claims were not independently checked against the underlying texts, so review the terms that apply to the specific template before using or redistributing it.
