26 Popular Blogs Built With WordPress: Examples for 2026

From engineering blogs and company updates to street-fashion photography and personal essays, these 26 examples show the variety of publishing approaches associated with WordPress.

These 26 blogs show how WordPress can support very different kinds of publishing: company updates, engineering articles, personal writing, news, lifestyle features, and visual storytelling. The list is a curated gallery, not a popularity ranking: its publisher does not provide ranking data or a popularity methodology. Use the examples to study editorial purpose, presentation, and reader interaction—not as proof that every site still uses the same platform or theme.

Descriptions and theme labels below reflect Colorlib’s September 28, 2026 roundup; they are not independent audits of each site’s current activity or setup. Themes and implementations can change.

How to use these WordPress blog examples

Rather than treating the list as a contest, compare each site against the kind of publication you want to create. A company newsroom has different needs from a personal blog or a photography-led portfolio.

  • Editorial purpose: company news, technical writing, personal essays, community, or visual inspiration.
  • Presentation: text-led articles, image-led features, archives, or a magazine-like mix.
  • Reader interaction: conversation, community contributions, newsletters, or mostly one-way publishing.
  • Implementation evidence: a theme named by Colorlib, a custom design label, or no theme detail stated.

WordPress.com’s February 2026 inspiration guide makes a useful point: “These 15 examples show there’s no single formula.” The variety matters more than copying one site’s appearance; templates, styles, plugins, and patterns are building blocks, not a guarantee of the same result.

Company, product, and technology publishing

6. GoDaddy Blog

Colorlib describes this as a company-news and announcements blog alongside a main site built on a custom platform. The distinction is a reminder that a blog and a company’s primary website do not necessarily share the same implementation.

7. Official LinkedIn Blog

The Official LinkedIn Blog focuses on professional and career-related content. It is a relevant model for organizations whose audience is interested in work, skills, and the wider professional landscape.

Gaming, culture, and commentary

24. The Sartorialist

The Sartorialist is centered on street-fashion photography. Unlike an article-heavy newsroom, it makes images the primary way readers encounter the subject.

Travel, aviation, and fan communities

25. The Cranky Flier

The Cranky Flier combines airline-industry coverage with travel commentary. Colorlib labels its theme custom. It demonstrates how a specialist publication can speak to both industry developments and the experience of travel.

26. Rafael Nadal Fans

Colorlib explicitly describes Rafael Nadal Fans as an unofficial fan blog. That distinction matters: it should not be mistaken for an official site or endorsement.

What the theme labels do—and do not—tell you

Colorlib names a theme for some entries, describes others as custom, and gives no theme detail for several. Those labels are not a complete or independently verified audit of present-day site technology. A theme can also be only one part of a site’s appearance: content structure, custom development, imagery, and editorial choices all affect the result. Do not assume a featured site’s design can be reproduced by installing the same theme.

For a separate platform reference, the official WordPress.org Showcase highlights selected WordPress sites across publication, community, creative, and business categories, including The Ankler, Daily Kos, NASA, Rolling Stone, and The White House. Its curated examples provide additional inspiration; they do not independently verify every site in this gallery.

Turn an example into a useful design brief

  1. Choose the publishing job. Decide whether the site is mainly for updates, technical explanations, personal stories, community coverage, or visual work.
  2. Pick a presentation pattern. Note whether the examples you like rely on archives, a magazine layout, image-led pages, or straightforward article lists.
  3. Define interaction. Decide whether readers need a way to comment, contribute, subscribe to newsletters, or simply read.
  4. Separate inspiration from implementation. Record what you want to emulate—such as clear categories or a strong visual focus—without assuming the original theme or custom build is available to you.
  5. Check the current building options. WordPress.com’s 2026 guide discusses templates, styles, plugins, patterns, and managed hosting. Compare current plan details and the control or maintenance you need before choosing a service.
