Colorlib’s 2026 collection includes 20 carousel designs, Carousel V01 through V20, plus Pagination V07, a dot-navigation option for card slides. The choices cover hero sections, testimonials, product and post cards, galleries, and split-screen layouts. Colorlib says its September 2026 rebuild uses HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript—no jQuery or Owl Carousel—and can be used standalone or in Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 projects. Those are publisher descriptions, not independently tested compatibility or accessibility results. See Colorlib’s collection and demos before choosing a snippet.

Hero sections and image-led slides
- Carousel V01: Colorlib recommends it for a full-screen hero. Its image can remain static while the text changes, which can keep the main visual steady.
- Carousel V09: An image-focused option when the visuals should lead.
- Carousel V13: Uses vertical slides.
- Carousel V20: Combines a vertical transition with a static right side and a text-and-call-to-action area.
Testimonials and other text
- Carousel V04: A clean, minimal, text-oriented testimonial layout.
- Carousel V14: Combines testimonial text and images.
- Carousel V15: Pairs a colored text area with clickable thumbnails.
- Carousel V16: Presents an avatar, name, and testimonial text; Colorlib also recommends it for testimonials.
- Carousel V19: Text-only, suitable for testimonials, quotations, or other short text. Colorlib reports a 192 KB download size for this design in 2026.
Cards, products, and featured content
- Carousel V02: Portfolio-like cards.
- Carousel V07: Cards for posts or other custom content.
- Carousel V12: Product links; Colorlib recommends it for product presentation. The publisher lists its rebuilt download at 620 KB in 2026, down from 2.7 MB before the rebuild.
- Pagination V07: One large card per slide, with named dot buttons and previous/next controls. Colorlib suggests it for featured listings, testimonials, product highlights, and onboarding. Its stated 2026 download size is 473 KB.
Split layouts and thumbnail navigation
- Carousel V06: A split-screen image-and-text composition. Colorlib lists its download size as 3.0 MB in 2026.
- Carousel V10: Uses thumbnails for navigation.
- Carousel V18: Combines top navigation with split text-and-image areas.
These are examples from the collection, not a complete one-by-one inventory of all 20 numbered designs. The download sizes are figures stated by Colorlib, not independently measured performance results; they should not be treated as an apples-to-apples comparison.

Colorlib says its September 2026 rebuild removed jQuery and Owl Carousel and uses plain HTML, CSS, and a few lines of vanilla JavaScript. It says the snippets can run on their own or inside Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 projects without Bootstrap files. Verify the files you download and their integration against your actual project; these compatibility claims have not been independently audited here.

That collection is distinct from Bootstrap’s own carousel component. The official Bootstrap v5.3 carousel documentation describes a JavaScript slideshow for images, text, or custom markup, with indicators and previous/next controls. Bootstrap says nested carousels are not supported. Its v5.3 documentation is not evidence about Bootstrap 6.
How should you choose and adapt a snippet?
- Match the layout to the content. Start with V01 for a hero, V04 or V16 for testimonials, V12 for product links, or Pagination V07 when you want one large card per slide with dot navigation. Preview the demo and inspect the markup and behavior in your own project before adopting it.
- Keep the key message visible. Colorlib advises putting the headline and call to action on the first slide, or using a static image while the text changes. This helps ensure the initial view carries useful content without waiting for a transition.
- Adjust the markup and stylesheet. Colorlib says slides are plain HTML blocks and that colors, fonts, and spacing can be changed in the stylesheet. Check the snippet’s actual structure before editing so your changes preserve its controls and responsive behavior.
- Watch image payloads. Colorlib recommends compressing images and supplying width and height. Its stated download sizes vary considerably across the examples above; those figures describe the publisher’s downloads, not the size or loading performance of your modified page.
What should you check for accessibility?
Carousels introduce motion and changing content, so do not assume that a visually polished demo is accessible by default. Bootstrap’s v5.3 documentation recommends avoiding autoplaying carousels. If autoplay is used, it says to provide an additional button or control that explicitly pauses or stops it. The same documentation notes that carousels can create usability and accessibility challenges.

Check that controls are keyboard-operable and clearly named, that users can tell which slide is active, and that inactive content is handled appropriately for assistive technology. Bootstrap’s examples use buttons with visually hidden labels and indicators labeled by slide. Colorlib says Pagination V07 uses buttons named for their slides, marks the active dot with aria-current, makes hidden slides inert, supports arrow-key navigation among dots, and supports touch swipe. Those are publisher claims and have not been independently audited; check the actual downloaded code.

The Understanding document is explanatory guidance; determine whether the normative criterion applies to the carousel and page in question rather than assuming every carousel automatically fails. W3C/WAI also advises: “As a best practice, if a page contains more than one moving, blinking, scrolling, or auto-updating element, provide a single mechanism to pause, stop, hide, or (in the case of auto-updating content) control the update frequency that affects all these elements at the same time.”

Can you use the snippets in commercial projects?
Colorlib says its snippets are free for personal and commercial projects under CC BY 3.0 if the credit link is retained. That is the publisher’s stated condition; the license file in each individual download has not been independently checked. Review the terms that accompany the files you actually use and preserve the required attribution.
