Its specifications make it straightforward to assess on paper, but the available product pages do not provide independent cleaning or durability tests.

Panasonic Australia describes the KG43 variant as an “1400W ECO-Max Light Motor” model. Panasonic’s Australia and New Zealand listings state 1400 W motor power, 400 W suction power and a 3 L dust-bag capacity. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements of pickup on carpet or hard floors. Panasonic Australia product page; Panasonic New Zealand product specifications.

Panasonic’s operating-instructions page specifies 230–240 V at 50 Hz, maximum input of 1400 W and nominal input of 1250–1300 W, and dimensions of 304 × 450 × 240 mm. Check the voltage, frequency and plug before considering an imported unit; matching the model name alone does not establish electrical compatibility. Panasonic operating instructions and manuals.

Does the Panasonic MC-CG524 have a HEPA filter?
Yes. Panasonic New Zealand lists HEPA air filtration, and the operating-instructions information identifies an exhaust HEPA filter, part number YMV72K95000, as well as a pre-motor filter. The listing does not establish a filtration efficiency percentage or independently tested allergy performance, so the HEPA label alone is not proof that the vacuum is allergy-safe. Confirm filter fit for your exact regional model before buying a replacement. Panasonic New Zealand specifications; Panasonic manuals.
Which bags fit the Panasonic MC-CG524?
The operating instructions identify TYPE C-17H dust bags for the MC-CG524. Panasonic New Zealand separately lists AMC-J2EPEX bags as compatible with the model. The sources do not say that these identifiers refer to the same bag, so do not assume they are interchangeable solely from their names. Check your unit’s manual or label, or confirm compatibility with the seller before ordering. Panasonic operating instructions; Panasonic New Zealand accessories.

Is the Panasonic MC-CG524 lightweight?
Panasonic lists the vacuum at 4.5 kg, including in its New Zealand specifications and the operating-instructions document. That figure describes the appliance’s stated weight; it does not tell you how easy it is to carry upstairs, maneuver with the hose attached or move across different flooring. The available sources do not give a separately stated carrying weight with accessories.
How long is the cord?
Panasonic New Zealand and Panasonic Sweden list a 7 m cord and a 10 m action radius. The radius is the manufacturer’s stated reach figure, not a guarantee that you can clean a 10 m circle from every socket: furniture, room layout and outlet placement affect practical coverage.

Does it clean well, and is it worth buying?
The available evidence supports a specification-led assessment, not a performance verdict. Panasonic’s product pages and regional review sections do not supply independent test results or substantive user-review text for pickup, noise, filtration performance or durability. The stated 400 W suction power should not be treated as proof of superior cleaning, and the Swedish 72 dB figure is a regional manufacturer listing rather than an independent noise test.
On paper, the MC-CG524 combines a 3 L bag, stated HEPA filtration, variable power, cord rewind and a 10 m stated radius in a 4.5 kg canister. To decide whether that configuration suits your home, verify the included floor head and tools, replacement-bag availability and cost, filter availability, and the exact SKU’s voltage and warranty in your country. The sources do not establish a tested comparison with rival vacuums or a value-for-money verdict.
