The 21 examples in Colorlib’s collection combine full website templates and smaller page snippets, so the right choice depends on whether you need a whole design or want to add motion to an existing page. Treat parallax as a decorative effect: preserve normal scrolling, provide a reduced-motion fallback, and check each item’s compatibility and license before using it.
What the 21 examples include
Colorlib’s collection groups together full website templates and smaller snippets intended for existing pages. It identifies work from Colorlib and ThemeForest, a CodePen demo, and three free Colorlib snippets. The collection count is a listing count, not evidence that any example improves usability or performance. Its page does not provide enough detail to independently verify every listing’s current availability or compare them in a hands-on test. See Colorlib’s Bootstrap parallax examples for the collection and links to the individual items.

Use the collection as a starting point, then inspect the exact template or demo page for its code, current framework requirements, and terms. The examples are not interchangeable: a complete template may require replacing or adapting much more of your site than a standalone section.

| What you need | What to look for | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| A complete site design | A full-site template from the collection | Whether its layout and dependencies fit your project; the item’s own license and current availability |
| One effect in an existing page | A section snippet, such as one of the three Colorlib snippets | How it fits your existing markup and styles; required attribution and the exact snippet terms |
| A simple image-backed section | CSS background behavior | Mobile rendering, reduced-motion handling, and how the effect behaves when fixed attachment is unsupported or ignored |
| More control over movement | A scripted effect or plugin | Dependencies, framework and package compatibility, direction options, and the reduced-motion experience |

How to make a simple parallax section
A basic CSS approach uses a cover-sized background with fixed attachment. It may be sufficient for a decorative section, but it is not a Bootstrap feature and browser behavior can vary. Colorlib notes that iOS Safari may render a background that uses fixed attachment as though it scrolls normally; treat that as compatibility guidance, not a guarantee for every device or version.
.parallax-section {
background-image: url("your-image.jpg");
background-size: cover;
background-attachment: fixed;
}
@media (prefers-reduced-motion: reduce) {
.parallax-section {
background-attachment: scroll;
}
}
Replace the example image path with your own asset. Keep meaningful text in ordinary page content rather than baking it into the image, and do not make the motion necessary to understand or use the page. Test the section on the devices and browsers your audience uses.
When a plugin is a better fit
MDB documents a Bootstrap 5 parallax plugin with image-source and direction options. Its documentation notes compatibility with the basic MDB package imported in UMD format. That package constraint matters: check the current MDB parallax plugin documentation and package instructions before adding it. The cited page is not evidence that the plugin will work unchanged with every Bootstrap or MDB setup.
Prefer a plugin only when its behavior and integration requirements match your project. For a single static-looking section, custom CSS may involve less integration; scripted movement can add control, but also brings dependencies and more behavior to account for.

Make custom parallax accessible
Bootstrap’s accessibility documentation cautions that accessibility depends substantially on the project author’s markup, styling, and scripts. Bootstrap’s reduced-motion support covers many framework transitions, but it does not automatically adapt custom parallax code. Handle the preference in your own implementation and ensure the page remains usable without the effect. See Bootstrap’s accessibility guidance.
- Keep parallax decorative rather than essential to navigation or comprehension.
- Honor
prefers-reduced-motion; for the simple fixed-background pattern, restore ordinary scrolling. - Preserve normal page scrolling and readable contrast over the image.
- Check the actual markup and interaction, including the reduced-motion version, rather than assuming the framework handles custom effects.
Check the license for the exact item
Colorlib says its three snippets are available for personal and commercial projects under CC BY 3.0 if the credit link is retained. That statement applies to those snippets, not automatically to the other entries. The listed website templates, ThemeForest templates, and CodePen demo have their own terms. Confirm the license and attribution conditions on the exact item’s download or project page before reuse.
