Vivaldi’s desktop browser includes built-in ways to organize tabs, find pages, automate repeated actions and compare sites side by side. These 10 practical workflows show where to find each feature and what to expect; menu labels and shortcut defaults may vary by version and operating system.
1. How do you separate tabs by topic?
Create a Workspace for each context
Workspaces let you group tabs around a subject such as research, work or school, then switch between those groups without mixing their tabs in one view. Create and manage them from the Workspaces controls, and switch using the menu, Quick Commands, a keyboard shortcut or a gesture. A Workspace can be open in only one browser window at a time. 2. How do you find browser items and commands from one place?
Open Quick Commands
Press F2 on Windows or Linux, or Command-E on macOS, to open Quick Commands. Start typing to search open tabs, history, bookmarks, notes, closed tabs and Workspaces, or to find and run browser commands. 3. How do you automate a sequence of browser actions?
Build a Command Chain
If you repeat the same set of steps, combine supported actions into a Command Chain. Go to Settings > Quick Commands > Command Chains to create and test one. Vivaldi’s documentation gives a chain combining Reader View and fullscreen mode as an example. Once created, a chain can be launched from Quick Commands, a keyboard shortcut, a mouse gesture or a toolbar button. 4. How do you keep a frequently checked site close at hand?
Add it as a Web Panel
A Web Panel puts a chosen site in Vivaldi’s side panel so you can open it without leaving the page in your main tab. Add a site from an open tab or its site-information control; adjust the panel’s width if the page needs more room. 5. How do you inspect tabs across windows?
Use the Windows and Tabs Panel
The Windows and Tabs Panel shows tabs across your browser windows in a tree-style view. Use it to inspect a large collection, move tabs or create tab stacks without relying on the tab bar alone. Vivaldi explains the panel’s controls in its Windows and Tabs Panel documentation.

6. How do you act on several tabs at once?
Select a range or individual tabs
To select a consecutive range, click the first tab and Shift-click the last. To add or remove individual tabs, use Ctrl-click on Windows or Linux, or Command-click on macOS. You can then stack, tile, bookmark or pin the selected tabs together. The exact selection behavior is documented in Vivaldi’s tab-selection guide.
7. How do you compare pages side by side?

Select the pages you want to compare, then choose a tiling arrangement: vertical, horizontal, grid or a custom layout. Resize the panes to give the most space to the page you are inspecting. 8. How do you trigger common actions without opening menus?
Set up mouse gestures—or use a shortcut
Vivaldi supports configurable mouse gestures for actions such as going back, closing a tab, opening a link in a new tab or running a Command Chain. Gestures suit mouse-first browsing; if you prefer the keyboard, assign or use a shortcut for the same kind of frequent action. 9. How do you switch to a tab without searching the tab bar?
Use Quick Commands, address-field suggestions or tab cycling
Quick Commands can search open tabs by name. You can also use tab suggestions in the address field, or cycle through tabs with the configured tab-cycling shortcuts. Shortcut notation and defaults differ by platform, so check Vivaldi’s current shortcut settings if the suggested key combination does not match your setup. 10. How do you reopen a recently closed tab?
Check Closed Tabs
Use the Closed Tabs control to find and reopen recently closed tabs or windows from the latest session. It is for recent recovery, not a long-term archive: multiple browser restarts erase the closed-tabs history.
