Samsung’s rollout began expanding to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, S26+ and S26 on September 16, 2026, after debuting on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8 and Z Flip8; that announcement does not guarantee availability on a particular model, carrier or region. Samsung says features may vary by device, carrier and network, and some Galaxy AI functions also depend on language, permissions, a Samsung Account or other settings. Samsung’s rollout announcement and its update instructions explain the current qualifications.
Personalize the parts of One UI you use most
1. Rearrange the Quick Panel around your routine
Open the Quick Panel and see which controls can be moved, resized or separated on your device. Samsung says One UI 9 expands customization, including options involving brightness, volume and the media player. The available layout controls can differ by model, so use the panel on your own phone as the guide rather than expecting every Galaxy to have identical editing options.

2. Make a Galaxy Z Flip8 cover screen more useful
On the Galaxy Z Flip8, Samsung describes editing the FlexWindow app screen, widgets and Quick Panel without unfolding the phone. Health and Reminder are among the widget choices in new lock-screen presets. This is a Flip8-specific example; it should not be read as a feature description for every Galaxy phone or every foldable.

Get timely help from suggestions and summaries
3. Let Now Nudge bring relevant details into view
Now Nudge can surface contextual suggestions in more places, including conversations—for example, reservation details or an option to save a location someone shared. Enable auto suggestions for these prompts; location permission is also needed for location-related suggestions. Samsung lists support for 16 languages, but language availability and other feature conditions vary. Samsung’s One UI 9 FAQ has the language and feature details.

4. Personalize Now Brief cards
Now Brief can offer more personalized layouts and editable or generated cards for topics such as health, weather and video. Personalization may depend on a Samsung Account and data permissions or consent. Generated content is not guaranteed to be accurate, so check important details against their original source before acting on them.
5. Read Voice Recorder summaries, then inspect Security Brief alerts
Samsung says Voice Recorder summaries can organize information with headings and tables. Security Brief can surface alerts in Now Brief about matters such as malware, apps from unknown sources and unnecessary permissions. Treat an alert as a prompt to review the relevant app or setting—not as proof that every security issue has been detected or that an unflagged phone is risk-free.

Use creative tools to refine photos and video
6. Reframe a clip around a person with My FanCam
In Gallery, select a video, tap the Galaxy AI icon and choose a detected person to create a version that follows that subject. A Samsung Account is required, and the video needs to contain a trackable person. Tracking results vary, so review the finished clip rather than assuming it will follow the subject perfectly.
7. Ask Photo Assist for an edit by voice
Photo Assist supports spoken prompts for edits, letting you describe the change you want instead of relying only on manual controls. Samsung lists support for 41 languages; that does not mean every language is available for every feature or already installed. Device, region, language, account and network conditions can apply. Saved output may include a visible AI watermark and can be resized. Check Samsung’s feature FAQ for current availability details.

Make conversations and documents easier to handle
8. Use Interpreter Thread View to follow a longer exchange
Thread View lets you refer back to earlier translated exchanges instead of treating each translated line as isolated. Interpreter’s Conversation Mode also supports quick playback with compatible Galaxy Buds4 Pro, Buds4, Buds3 Pro and Buds3; earbuds are optional, not a requirement for using the feature. Language packs, account conditions and translation quality can vary, so confirm important information with the other speaker.
9. Scan book pages and folded documents with less manual correction
Document Scan is designed to handle issues such as curved book pages and folded corners with less manual adjustment. On compatible large-screen views, Samsung also describes an improved Finger Eraser for cleaning up scans. Inspect the result for missing or distorted text—especially before sharing or relying on an important document. A cleaner-looking scan is not a substitute for checking that it is complete and legible.

Review privacy signals, but keep control of the decision
10. Check Privacy Alerts and review the permissions they flag
Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to flag potential risks, including unnecessary attempts to access permissions in the background. Samsung cautions that an alert may not account for every relevant factor. Open the related app or permission settings and decide whether access is appropriate for that app’s purpose; do not treat an alert—or the absence of one—as a complete privacy assessment.

One UI 9 availability depends on the device’s software and Samsung’s rollout, while individual functions can have further requirements. A missing option does not necessarily mean a setting is disabled: the feature may not be supported for that model, region or carrier, or it may depend on a language pack, network, Samsung Account or permission. Check Samsung’s One UI 9 feature page and update guidance for the current details for your device.
