Apple lists the iPhone 18 Pro at 71.9 mm wide × 150.0 mm high × 8.75 mm deep (211 g), and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at 78.0 mm wide × 163.4 mm high × 8.75 mm deep (249 g). The Pro Max is both taller and wider; screen diagonal alone does not establish a fit. Which style suits your bike and riding?
Choose a universal clamp if you want to avoid a dedicated phone case
A universal clamp can be the simplest route when you want to keep your existing case, provided the phone fits the clamp’s actual width, height, and thickness limits. The Arkon SM632 has the most specific published evidence for these phones, but the Pro’s fit is inferred from dimensions rather than named by Arkon. A bungee strap adds another retention point; still check that the clamp closes securely around your cased phone.

Choose a case-based system if fast attachment is the priority
Quad Lock and Fidlock Vacuum rely on a phone-side case or attachment and a matching bike mount. This can make attachment and release convenient, but the correct iPhone 18 case or adapter is essential. Include the phone-side accessory in the total cost, and verify availability for the exact model rather than assuming an older iPhone case will work.
Choose a bag or strap when exposure and mounting position matter
The Zefal Z Console Dry encloses the phone, while O-ring and strap designs such as the Triban / Rockrider holder can offer handlebar or stem placement. An enclosure can reduce direct exposure to weather, but confirm the phone fits inside with its case and that the screen remains usable as you need it. Are magnetic bike mounts safe?
“Magnetic” does not by itself establish that a mount will hold every phone securely in every riding condition. Cyclingnews reports that its reviewer found the magnetic-guide products secure in their own use and recommends checking attachment before riding. That experience is not a guarantee across different phones, cases, installations, or road surfaces.

Should you use a bike computer or your phone?
A phone mount can put navigation and apps within reach, but it leaves an expensive, exposed device on the handlebars. A dedicated bike computer is an alternative if you prefer not to mount your phone; the sources available here do not compare particular computers with these mounts. Base the choice on whether you need phone-screen access while riding and whether you are comfortable with the phone’s exposure in a fall.
What the published comparisons do—and do not—establish
OutdoorGearLab says it bought 13 bike phone mounts and rode with them for more than 1,000 miles for its comparison, updated November 17, 2025. Those are that publisher’s test conditions, not tests of the iPhone 18 Pro or Pro Max and not independent testing for this article. Cyclingnews’ comparison was updated January 23, 2026; its product descriptions and reviewer observations are useful context, but they do not establish model-specific compatibility for all ten mounts.
