If your ZELOTES mouse loses its custom settings after a restart, start by checking the exact mouse model and installing its matching configuration software. Then save or apply the profile and test whether the reset happens after reconnecting the mouse, closing the utility, or restarting Windows. The cause and fix can differ by model; available official listings do not establish which models store every setting onboard or require software at startup.
Why might ZELOTES settings reset?
A reset can happen at different points in the configuration process: when the mouse is disconnected, when its utility closes, or when Windows starts again. Tracking which event triggers the change helps narrow down what to check, but it does not by itself prove a specific cause.

One secondary troubleshooting source suggests that some mice may depend on a utility running after Windows starts, while the official ZELOTES downloads page does not confirm that behavior for each model. Treat startup software or a lack of onboard memory as possibilities to investigate, not universal explanations.

1. Identify your exact mouse model
Find the model name on the mouse’s underside, its packaging, or your purchase record. Then choose that exact model on the ZELOTES downloads page. ZELOTES lists different software and driver releases for different models, so a download for a similar-looking mouse is not confirmed as compatible.

2. Save or apply the settings in the matching utility
Open the utility for your model, set the desired options, and look for an Apply or Save control before closing it. A third-party transcription of the C-12 manual advises saving settings, but that instruction is specific to the C-12 and is not an official manufacturer source. Do not assume every model uses the same control or saves every profile field the same way.
3. Find out what triggers the reset
After saving your settings, test one event at a time and note what changes:

- Disconnect and reconnect: Check whether the settings persist when the mouse is unplugged and connected again.
- Close the utility: Check whether the settings remain after you exit the configuration software.
- Restart Windows: Check whether they remain after the computer starts again.
This separates the symptoms by trigger; it does not establish whether the mouse stores settings onboard or relies on software.
4. If settings reset after Windows starts, check the utility and profile
Confirm that the correct ZELOTES utility is installed and that it selects the profile you want. If that model is meant to reload its settings through software, check whether the utility runs when you sign in to Windows. The available official material does not verify that startup behavior for any particular model, so confirm it in the exact model’s documentation or with ZELOTES support rather than assuming it applies.

5. Keep Windows mouse settings separate
Windows pointer speed and related controls are separate from model-specific gaming mouse profiles. In Windows 11, open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mouse to review Windows mouse behavior. Microsoft notes that some apps might not support certain features; that limitation concerns Windows behavior settings, not ZELOTES profile storage. 6. Contact support if the reset continues
If the matching software and its save or apply action do not resolve the issue, contact ZELOTES support with the exact model, your operating system, the settings that reset, and the event that triggers the reset. Ask for model-specific guidance on profile persistence; the public download listings do not provide a universal answer about onboard storage or startup requirements.

What to include when describing the problem
- The model name printed on the mouse or packaging.
- Which settings revert, such as DPI, button assignments, lighting, or another profile field.
- Whether the change follows reconnection, closing the utility, or restarting Windows.
- Whether the model-matched utility is installed, whether you saved or applied the settings, and which profile is selected.
