Then check the replay’s visibility, playlist membership, and playlist visibility and order. These are separate settings. DVR affects pausing and rewinding during a live stream; YouTube’s guidance does not identify it as a control for replay placement in a playlist.
First, confirm that YouTube created a replay
An ended live event and a published replay are different states. In YouTube Studio, open Content, select the Live tab, and find the event. Check whether an archived video exists.

YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream that exceeds 12 hours may not be captured at all. If no archive exists, there is no replay for a playlist to display; the immediate problem is archive availability, not playlist synchronization. YouTube recommends keeping a local archive as a backup. That can help preserve a recording, but it does not add a video to a playlist or change its order.

Open the archive’s details in YouTube Studio and inspect Visibility. The video’s privacy setting affects where viewers can find it:

- Public: The video can appear in YouTube search and channel listings.
- Unlisted: People with the link can watch it, but it generally does not appear in search or on the channel’s Videos tab. YouTube documents an exception: an unlisted video can be available through a public playlist when it has been added to that playlist.
- Private: Access is restricted to the owner and selected viewers.
A replay being absent from the channel’s Videos tab is not, by itself, proof that it is missing from a playlist. Check the playlist separately.
Verify playlist membership
In YouTube Studio, go to Content > Playlists, open the playlist, and check whether the replay is actually included. If it is missing, YouTube’s documented workflow is to open the video’s details and use More > Add videos. You can select a video using search, its URL, or your library.

Do not assume that ending a live event automatically adds its replay to a particular playlist. YouTube’s help guidance describes a channel as being able to post a replay after a stream ends; it does not promise automatic playlist inclusion.

Check playlist visibility and order
A playlist has its own visibility setting, separate from the replay’s privacy setting. Open the playlist in Studio and check its visibility as well as its contents and order:

If the replay is in the playlist but appears in the wrong place, reorder the videos in the playlist interface or use YouTube Studio’s playlist management flow. Confirm the saved order by opening the playlist as a viewer, rather than relying only on the event’s position in Studio’s Live content list.
Use DVR only for live playback symptoms
DVR lets viewers pause or rewind while a live stream is in progress. YouTube says DVR may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. Its guidance also says that disabling DVR prevents viewers from seeking backward during the live stream, but does not prevent a full recording from appearing after the stream when available.

So, if viewers cannot rewind a stream while it is live, check the DVR setting and stream length. If the issue is that the finished replay is missing from a playlist or in the wrong position, check the archive and playlist settings instead. The reviewed YouTube guidance does not establish DVR as a cause or fix for replay membership or ordering.
If the archive is missing or damaged
When the underlying stream or recording is absent or has playback problems, YouTube’s live-stream guidance recommends checking encoder health, the local archive, and outbound internet. Those checks are relevant to stream or recording problems; they do not replace the visibility, membership, and ordering checks above.

If an archive is missing after a stream that exceeded 12 hours, YouTube’s stated capture limitation may be relevant. For future broadcasts, keep a local recording as a backup. A backup helps protect the recording, but it will still need to be uploaded or otherwise added to the playlist if you want it listed there.
If all settings look right
If the archive exists, its visibility is appropriate, the replay is in the playlist, and the playlist’s visibility and order are correct—but viewers still see a mismatch—preserve the replay and playlist URLs and screenshots of the relevant settings, then contact YouTube support about the account-specific behavior. YouTube’s reviewed help pages explain these controls but do not confirm a separate replay-to-playlist synchronization defect, a guaranteed processing time, or a platform-wide bug. Avoid treating the symptom as a confirmed outage without account-specific evidence.
