Start by identifying the card precisely, then compare recent completed sales for that same model in your market.
Why an old GPU’s value can vary so much
“Old GPU” is not a useful pricing category. In a German snapshot of completed eBay.de sales dated October 5, 2026, HWIndex reported a median of €1,325 for an RTX 3090 and €50 for a GTX 1050 Ti. Those figures are model-level medians, not promises for an individual card, and they show why the exact model matters.

The same card can also command different prices depending on its memory variant, working condition, included accessories, local demand, and whether you sell privately or accept a dealer’s buyback offer.

Identify the exact card
Check the label on the card or its original box, or use your computer’s system information to find the GPU model. Record the memory configuration too; cards with the same GPU name can differ in memory, and comparisons are only useful when the variant matches.

Find completed sales in your country
Search for multiple recent completed sales of the same model and variant. A completed sale is evidence that a buyer paid that amount; an active listing only shows what a seller hopes to receive. HWIndex uses completed eBay.de sales from the prior 30 days, including shipping. PC Part Value says its used-price views are based on completed eBay sales.

Compare like with like
Set aside broken cards, parts-only listings, multi-card lots, and different memory variants where possible. Compare totals on the same basis—for example, including shipping in every price—and use a median or middle band of results rather than anchoring on the cheapest listing.

Account for condition and selling route
A working card in ordinary used condition is not directly comparable to a faulty card or a dealer’s buyback offer. If convenience matters more than pursuing a private sale, get a current buyback quote for your card and compare it with the completed-sale range.

These references should not be combined into one price range: they cover different countries, periods, and methods. In particular, do not use German euro sale medians as a US or UK estimate, or treat an active asking price as proof of what a buyer will pay.

What the published figures do—and don’t—tell you
HWIndex’s October 5, 2026 German snapshot gives a useful illustration of the spread between models: €1,325 median for an RTX 3090 and €50 for a GTX 1050 Ti. The site says its included models each had at least three completed sales and that prices include shipping. Those sample conditions make the figures context, not a quote for a particular card.
For a specific GPU, the available references support comparing matching recent transactions, but they do not establish a formula that predicts an individual sale price. Your condition, local market, timing, and chosen sale route still affect the outcome.
