TMZ reported on October 1, 2026, that U.S. representative Yassamin Ansari and YouTuber Jack Cocchiarella had been seeing each other for several months. The report, based on unnamed sources it described as having direct knowledge, says they first met in spring 2025, later became friends, and eventually began a romantic relationship. Neither person publicly confirmed the relationship in the report, and it did not give a precise dating start date.
What the reported timeline says
TMZ’s account describes a progression from a professional interview to friendship and then romance. It gives only approximate timing for each stage:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Spring 2025: TMZ said Cocchiarella interviewed Ansari. It did not provide an exact date for the interview.
- A few months later: The outlet said they began spending time together as friends. It did not specify when or how they first met socially.
- Several months before October 1, 2026: According to the sources cited by TMZ, the friendship eventually turned romantic, and they had been seeing each other for the past few months. The report did not say when they officially began dating.
- October 1, 2026: TMZ published its report about the relationship.
Has either person confirmed they are dating?
No public confirmation appears in the TMZ report. Ansari declined to discuss her personal life. TMZ quoted her saying, “I’m not commenting on my personal life, nor is it anyone’s business. Right now, ICE is terrorizing communities across the country with zero accountability, and Trump’s reckless war in Iran continues raging on. I’m focused on helping to flip the House so we can pass meaningful legislation — that’s what we should all be focused on.”

What is known—and what remains unclear
The timeline comes principally from one TMZ report, which attributed the relationship account to unnamed sources it said had direct knowledge. Hindustan Times recapped that same report on October 2, 2026; it is not independent corroboration.
The available reporting does not establish the exact date of the interview, when the friendship began, or when the relationship became romantic. It also does not establish details such as exclusivity. The clearest supported account is that TMZ reported they had been seeing each other for several months by October 1, 2026, while neither person publicly confirmed the relationship in that report.
