Choose the Yamaha R200A for a straightforward stereo system built around a turntable, AM/FM radio, Bluetooth, and analog sources. Choose the Yamaha R-N600A if you need Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2, Ethernet, USB music playback, or optical and coaxial digital inputs. Both have a phono input and subwoofer output; neither lists HDMI ARC. Yamaha’s published power ratings differ, but their test conditions also differ, and they do not establish which receiver sounds better.

Which receiver fits your sources?
Choose the R200A for vinyl, radio, and Bluetooth
The R200A suits a system whose main sources are a phono-output turntable, AM/FM radio, Bluetooth devices, and analog line-level components. Its Bluetooth 5.3 Multipoint feature lets two source devices remain paired. It also provides A/B speaker support and a subwoofer output, without making you pay for network and digital-input features you may not use.

Choose the R-N600A for network and digital sources
The R-N600A is the more connected option. Yamaha lists Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2, Ethernet, USB storage playback, and optical and coaxial inputs. Those connections can suit a system with network music, compatible digital components, or supported files on a USB drive. Yamaha lists formats including MP3, WMA, MPEG-4 AAC, WAV, FLAC, AIFF, and DSD. Check that the services and features you want are available in your region and with your receiver’s current firmware. Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Does the R-N600A have more power than the R200A?
No: Yamaha publishes a higher rated output for the R200A. Yamaha rates it at 100 W + 100 W into 8 ohms from 40 Hz–20 kHz at 0.2% THD. The R-N600A is rated at 80 W + 80 W into 8 ohms from 20 Hz–20 kHz at 0.07% THD. Because the frequency ranges and distortion conditions differ, the numbers are not a fully like-for-like comparison. They also do not prove that the R200A sounds better or will be a better match for every speaker. Consider your speakers and listening needs alongside the published ratings.

Will either receiver work with your turntable, speakers, and subwoofer?
Turntable
Both models list a phono input. Check your turntable’s output setting: use phono-level output with the receiver’s phono input. If the turntable has a built-in preamp, use its line output when appropriate rather than feeding an already-amplified signal into the phono input.
Speakers
Both are two-channel receivers with speaker connections, but confirm the full manual’s impedance limits and any restrictions on using A/B speakers before wiring a particular setup. The product summaries alone do not establish compatibility with a specific third-party speaker model. Yamaha provides the R200A downloads and manual and R-N600A manuals and software.

Subwoofer
Each receiver lists a subwoofer output, making a powered subwoofer a potential addition. Check that the subwoofer’s input is compatible and consult the relevant receiver manual before buying or connecting it.
Can you play music from USB on the R200A?
No. Yamaha specifies the R200A’s USB port for firmware updates, not music playback from a USB drive. The R-N600A, by contrast, lists USB storage playback. If USB music is part of your plan, that distinction matters.

Can you connect a TV with HDMI ARC?
Neither model’s Yamaha specification page lists HDMI ARC; the R-N600A specifications explicitly say “No.” If you need one-cable HDMI ARC TV audio, look for a receiver that supports it or confirm another workable connection path between your TV and receiver before buying.
