Neither chip can be called the universal winner from the published results available. Xring O3 has reported strong multi-core and graphics results in some tests, while Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 leads some single-core comparisons. But the scores come from different devices, modes, and test contexts—not a controlled head-to-head run. Treat them as clues, not a definitive ranking.
Benchmark results: compare the test context, not just the score
Benchmark numbers are meaningful only alongside the test version, device, mode, and source. Even results for one chip vary considerably across devices and configurations. The figures below are reported results, not guaranteed scores for every phone or tablet using the processor.

| Chip and reported test | Score | Device, mode, and attribution |
|---|---|---|
| Xring O3, Geekbench 6.7.1 single-core | 3,277 | Notebookcheck result for a Xiaomi 18 Fold in performance mode. |
| Xring O3, Geekbench 6.7.1 single-core | 3,945 | Notebookcheck listing for a Xiaomi development platform; this is not the Xiaomi 18 Fold performance-mode result. |
| Xring O3, Geekbench 6 single-core / multi-core | 3,699 / 14,350 | Notebookcheck hands-on results on the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max, reported in 2026. |
| Xring O3, Geekbench 6.5 single-core / multi-core | 3,945 / 15,221 | Figures attributed to Xiaomi by Cinco Días in 2026; they are company-reported, not independent test results. |
| Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 | Varies by result | NanoReview aggregates benchmark figures for both processors, but does not establish a controlled device-to-device comparison. |
Notebookcheck also lists a 2,149 score for a Xiaomi 18 Fold result, but the cited listing does not establish enough context here to treat it as a directly comparable single-core result. Do not combine scores from Geekbench 6, 6.5, and 6.7.1 into one ranking: benchmark versions and device conditions differ.

Single-core performance
Single-core tests can help indicate performance in lightly threaded or latency-sensitive tasks. Some published Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 results are ahead, while the reported Xring O3 outcomes vary by device and test context. A result from the O3 development platform should not be presented as the expected score for a retail device.

Multi-core performance
Multi-core tests can favor workloads that make effective use of several cores. The reported O3 Pad 9 Pro Max and Xiaomi-attributed Geekbench results are strong, but they do not prove that O3 will outperform Snapdragon in every sustained or real-world workload. Core count, cooling, power limits, firmware, and memory configuration all affect what a device can sustain.

The same listing reports 12 MB of L2 cache, 16 MB of L3 cache, LPDDR6-10667 memory support, an Arm Mali G2-Ultra NX MP16 GPU, an NPU rated up to 200 INT8 TOPS, and a second-generation 3 nm process. These are reported specifications; a detailed official O3 specification sheet was not available in the cited material. Memory support describes a stated capability, not necessarily the memory type or speed configured in a particular device.
Graphics, sustained speed, and device design
Published material suggests Xring O3 can perform strongly in some graphics tests, but the available reports do not provide a controlled, sustained-performance comparison with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. A peak graphics benchmark is not a substitute for measuring frame rates and temperatures during a long gaming session.

Actual performance depends on the device around the chip: cooling hardware, firmware, power limits, memory configuration, and the benchmark’s version and settings. A thin device with conservative power limits may behave differently from a larger, better-cooled device using the same processor. For gaming or other extended workloads, look for tests on the exact device that measure performance over time rather than relying on a peak score alone.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which chip should you choose?
- For a single-core comparison: favor same-version tests on retail devices, with the mode identified. The current mixed-context figures do not establish one chip as the consistent winner.
- For multi-core workloads: the O3 results are promising, but check sustained tests on the device you are considering; scores from different platforms are not an apples-to-apples verdict.
- For graphics or gaming: compare device-level gaming tests, temperatures, and performance over time. The available benchmark reports do not settle which chip sustains higher performance.
- For platform features: distinguish reported chip support from what the manufacturer actually implements in a specific phone or tablet.
Xiaomi investor-relations material identifies Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 as the platform debuting in the Xiaomi 17 Series. That device association does not itself establish a benchmark advantage over an O3-powered device.

How to read future comparisons
- Check that both results use the same benchmark and version.
- Identify the exact device and whether it was in a performance mode or another configuration.
- Separate independently measured results from numbers attributed to a chipmaker.
- For graphics and gaming, check whether the test measures peak performance or sustained behavior.
- Compare retail devices you can actually buy in your region; chip specifications alone do not describe the full device experience.
