The Redmi Turbo 5 is the stronger on-paper pick for battery capacity and wired charging; the Motorola Edge 70 is substantially thinner and lighter, and adds wireless charging. There is no reliable price difference to quote: the available prices and specifications are from different markets and do not establish a same-country, same-configuration comparison.

The figures below come from Xiaomi’s India specifications page and Motorola’s UK support specifications, except the Motorola design figures, which are from its global product page. They are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results; regional versions and included accessories may vary.

Battery and charging: Redmi leads on capacity and wired rate
Xiaomi lists a 7540mAh typical battery and 100W wired charging for the Redmi Turbo 5. Motorola lists a 4800mAh battery, 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging for the Edge 70. That makes the Redmi the higher-capacity, faster-rated wired option on paper, while the Motorola offers wireless charging.

Portability: the Edge 70 is slimmer and lighter
Motorola’s global product page gives the Edge 70 a 5.9mm profile and 159g weight. Xiaomi lists the Redmi Turbo 5 at 8.18mm and 204g. If a light, very thin phone is the priority, the published figures favor Motorola; the Redmi’s larger battery comes in a thicker, heavier body.
Displays: similar refresh ceiling, different size and resolution
Both manufacturers specify AMOLED-family displays with refresh rates up to 120Hz. The Redmi’s listed panel is 6.59 inches at 2756 × 1268; the Edge 70’s is 6.67 inches at 2712 × 1220. These specifications do not establish which screen looks better in everyday use, and manufacturer peak-brightness figures alone would not settle that question.

Performance and configurations
The official pages name different processors: MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra for the Redmi Turbo 5 and Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 for the Edge 70. Motorola’s UK listing specifies 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, while Xiaomi’s India page lists its own regional memory and storage options. Without comparable independent benchmark results, these labels do not support a defensible performance winner. Confirm the exact variant offered in your market before comparing prices or buying.

Motorola’s Mexico announcement gives the Edge 70 a launch starting price of MXN 12,999 (Motorola Mexico announcement). Xiaomi’s India product pages reviewed here do not provide a comparable current price for the Redmi Turbo 5. The MXN launch figure and an India-market price would not be a like-for-like comparison, so they should not be subtracted or presented as a price gap.

For a useful comparison, check both phones in the same country, at the same time, with matching storage capacity and the same seller basis—such as official retail prices or current listings from comparable retailers. Also check stock: Xiaomi’s campaign page labels the Redmi Turbo 5 “COMING SOON,” wording that is time-sensitive and does not by itself establish broader availability (Xiaomi campaign page).

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Redmi Turbo 5 on paper if battery capacity and a higher rated wired charging speed matter most, and the phone is actually available in your market.
- Choose the Motorola Edge 70 on paper if low weight, a slim profile or wireless charging is more important to you.
- Compare local listings before deciding if price is the deciding factor: the available figures do not establish a fair price difference.
