First, identify the exact REDMI Note 15
The Global REDMI Note 15 5G and the non-5G REDMI Note 15 listed on Xiaomi UK are not the same specification set. Xiaomi’s Global page lists a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, a 5,520mAh typical battery and 45W charging for the 5G model. Xiaomi UK lists a MediaTek Helio G100-Ultra, a 6,000mAh battery and 33W charging for its non-5G model. Confirm the market and model suffix on the seller’s listing before comparing prices or specs.

The table compares the Global REDMI Note 15 5G with Xiaomi’s UK Xiaomi 17 Ultra page. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not results from independent testing. Where the available source details do not support a direct comparison, the table says so rather than inferring a figure.

Where the Xiaomi 17 Ultra stands out
The clearest published distinction is the rear-camera hardware. Xiaomi lists a 1-inch main camera, a 200MP telephoto covering 75–100mm equivalent focal lengths, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera for the 17 Ultra. The Global REDMI Note 15 5G page lists a 108MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide. Megapixel counts and sensor size describe hardware; they do not by themselves prove which phone takes better photos in every situation.

The processor and software versions also differ in Xiaomi’s published specifications: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and HyperOS 3 for the Ultra, versus Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and HyperOS 2 for the Global REDMI 5G. The specifications support identifying a different product tier, but they are not a substitute for independent performance or software-support testing.
Price difference: launch prices are not today’s comparison
Xiaomi’s investor-relations presentation reports launch starting prices of RMB 6,999 in mainland China and EUR 1,499 overseas for the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The same presentation says it launched in mainland China in December 2025 and overseas in February 2026. These are historical starting prices, not current local offers, and they do not establish a present-day price difference versus a REDMI Note 15 in any country.

For a useful comparison, check current listings in the same country and on the same date. Match storage configuration, confirm the exact REDMI model, and compare the seller and included package contents. Do not subtract a European Ultra launch price from a REDMI price in another market. Xiaomi’s launch-price and timing information is in its 25Q4 earnings presentation.
Battery, charging and what comes in the box
For the Global REDMI Note 15 5G, Xiaomi specifies a 5,520mAh typical battery and 45W turbo charging. Xiaomi says the adapter is not included on that Global specification page and recommends a 45W PD-compatible or Xiaomi adapter. Check the local box contents before buying a charger: package details can differ by region. This information does not establish the 17 Ultra’s battery capacity or charging speed.

Xiaomi’s protection claims also need to be read narrowly. Its Global REDMI page lists IP66 and says protection applies under specified laboratory conditions and may diminish through wear or damage. That rating is not a comparative drop-resistance test, and the cited Ultra specification details do not establish a matching protection figure.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Xiaomi 17 Ultra if its camera system is the priority and its current price in your market fits your budget. Its published hardware includes a 1-inch main camera and a 200MP telephoto.
- Consider the REDMI Note 15 5G if you are comparing the Global 5G model and its listed 108MP main camera, 5,520mAh typical battery and 45W charging suit your needs. Verify the local configuration and price first.
- Compare the non-5G REDMI separately if that is the model sold to you. Xiaomi UK’s listing has a different processor, battery capacity and charging rate from the Global 5G model.
No single price verdict follows from Xiaomi’s published launch figures: the relevant current, same-market prices and matching configurations are not established here.
