This review covers the global Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, not the separate 4G model. Its strongest attractions are a sharp 120Hz AMOLED display, a stabilized 200MP main camera and 67W wired charging. Its main compromises are IP54 protection rather than waterproofing, midrange processing power and software clutter noted by reviewers. Whether it is worth buying now depends on the price and software version available where you live.
What is the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G?
The Redmi Note 13 Pro name covers distinct 4G and 5G phones, so check the network variant before comparing specifications or buying. Xiaomi’s global 5G model uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor; GSMArena identifies the 4G model’s chip as MediaTek Helio G99 Ultra. The display and connectivity claims in this review apply to the 5G model.

Xiaomi specifies a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with 2712 × 1220 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate for the global 5G phone. Those are strong specifications for a midrange handset: the high resolution gives it a fine pixel grid, while the faster refresh rate allows compatible content and interface animations to update more frequently than on a conventional 60Hz panel. Specifications alone do not establish brightness, color accuracy or how the screen looks in everyday use.

Performance and storage
The Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is a midrange chip, not a flagship processor. GSMArena characterized it as below higher-tier Snapdragon 7-series chips but adequate for the affordable midrange class. Its tested 12GB RAM/512GB storage unit performed solidly in that review’s benchmark suite; synthetic results should not be read as a promise of a particular game’s frame rate or performance in every configuration.
Xiaomi lists global 5G configurations with storage up to 512GB. Available RAM and storage options can vary by market, so confirm the exact configuration on the local product listing rather than assuming every region sells the largest version.
Rear cameras: useful hardware, not a megapixel guarantee
Xiaomi lists three rear cameras on the 5G model:
- Main: 200MP, optical image stabilization (OIS), f/1.65 aperture and a 1/1.4-inch sensor, as specified by Xiaomi.
- Ultrawide: 8MP.
- Macro: 2MP.
Xiaomi also advertises electronic image stabilization alongside OIS. Those features describe the camera system, but a 200MP count does not by itself guarantee better photos; image processing, lighting and the specific shooting mode matter. Notebookcheck’s January 2024 review described the main camera’s photos as decent, an assessment of that review unit rather than a universal result. Notebookcheck’s Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G review provides its review-time observations.
Battery and charging
Xiaomi gives the battery a typical capacity of 5100mAh and specifies 67W wired charging. Capacity is a manufacturer figure, not a guarantee of a particular runtime; battery life depends on use, settings, network conditions and software.
In its 2024 lab test, GSMArena measured 49% charge after 15 minutes, 83% after 30 minutes and a full charge in 42 minutes. The test used the proprietary adapter and 6A-rated cable included with its review unit. Box contents may differ by region, so those results do not guarantee the same charging time with another adapter, cable or local package. GSMArena’s 2024 review and charging test describes its setup.

Build, protection and practical extras
Xiaomi specifies IP54 splash-and-dust resistance and Gorilla Glass Victus for the 5G model. IP54 is not an immersion rating: do not treat the phone as waterproof or assume it can safely be submerged. GSMArena noted that the 5G Pro lacks the IP68 rating found on the Pro+ sibling.
The listed extras include stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an infrared blaster and an in-screen fingerprint reader. Xiaomi notes that NFC availability varies by region; check the exact local model and its supported network bands before purchase.
Software: check the current version and support terms
GSMArena reviewed the phone in January 2024 with Android 13 and MIUI 14. The outlet found the interface snappy and customizable, noted that ads could be disabled in relevant settings, and criticized the short always-on display behavior. Notebookcheck complained about preinstalled third-party apps. These are review-period observations, not a description of every current regional build.
GSMArena said the update duration was unknown at the time of its review; its estimate was speculative. The sources cited here do not establish the phone’s current software build or remaining support period as of October 2026. Before buying, check Xiaomi’s current support information for your region and the software version installed on the specific device.
Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G vs 5G
The 4G and 5G versions are separate models, not interchangeable configurations. The comparison below uses the specifications identified in Xiaomi’s global 5G listing and GSMArena’s 4G review context.

Pros and cons
Pros
- High-resolution 120Hz AMOLED display on the global 5G model.
- 200MP main camera with OIS, alongside ultrawide and macro cameras.
- 67W wired charging; GSMArena’s review-unit test reached full charge in 42 minutes under its stated setup.
- Stereo speakers, a headphone jack and an IR blaster add practical options.
- Storage configurations extend up to 512GB on the global 5G model, subject to regional availability.
Cons and caveats
- IP54 protection is for splash and dust resistance, not full immersion.
- The Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is midrange silicon, not a top-tier platform.
- The high camera resolution does not guarantee superior photos; review assessments are subjective.
- Reviewers noted preinstalled third-party apps, and the contemporary GSMArena review did not establish an update duration.
- 4G and 5G models differ in chipset, network support and display resolution.
Verdict: is the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G worth buying?
The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G makes the most sense for someone who values a detailed, fast-refreshing screen, OIS on the main camera, quick wired charging and features such as a headphone jack or IR blaster. It is less compelling if you need immersion-rated water protection, flagship-level processing or a clearly established long-term update commitment.
There is no current price or stock evidence here for October 2026, so a value verdict depends on the local offer. Compare the price of the exact 5G configuration against current alternatives, verify the seller and package contents, and check software support for your region. An old UK review price is not a reliable guide to today’s market.
Expert Reviews called the phone competent against similarly priced rivals in its April 2024 UK review; that was a review-period judgment, not a current comparison. Notebookcheck reviewer Florian Schmitt wrote in January 2024 that it was a “premium midrange smartphone without any real weaknesses.” That favorable opinion needs to be read alongside the IP54 limit, software concerns and the uncertainty around present-day pricing and support.
