Android Authority reported the prices and reservation offer on October 6, 2026. The outlet said the US Kickstarter campaign was scheduled to begin October 20; the campaign date and offer terms should be checked against XGIMI’s live terms before committing.

Android Authority described the deposit as refundable and said it takes $200 off the Kickstarter starting price. Its report did not give complete refund, campaign, or fulfillment terms, so review the actual reservation conditions rather than treating the discount as guaranteed.

Android Authority reported that the Kickstarter campaign was scheduled for October 20, 2026. The same October 6 report said shipping was expected to begin in December; that was an estimate, not a confirmed delivery schedule. This is a campaign launch, not evidence of confirmed Amazon or other retail stock. Android Authority’s October 6 report has the announcement details.

What do the Max and Pro offer?
Both are described as ultra-short-throw (UST) RGB triple-laser projectors with 4K/120Hz playback, variable refresh rate (VRR), auto low latency mode (ALLM), Google TV, and an 80W Harman Kardon speaker system. Android Authority says 4K/120Hz requires a compatible HDMI 2.1 source. These are reported product specifications, not results from an independent hands-on test.

Android Authority reports the brightness and contrast figures as specifications; they should not be read as independently verified measurements. What Hi-Fi? also reports Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG support, IMAX Enhanced certification, Dolby Atmos, and two pairs of included 3D glasses. Those claims are attributed to its September 3, 2026 announcement coverage.

Which model makes more sense?
Consider the Max if its extra brightness and contrast matter in your room
The Max costs $200 more than the Pro at the reported Kickstarter starting prices. Its listed advantage is 1,600 ISO lumens and 1,000:1 of native contrast. Those headline numbers may be relevant if you need more brightness headroom, but they do not establish which model will look better in a particular room.

Consider the Pro if the lower campaign price is the priority
The Pro retains the reported 4K/120Hz, VRR and ALLM gaming features, while its listed brightness and native contrast are lower. Compare the models against your room lighting, intended image size, screen surface and placement—not brightness alone. XGIMI’s general 4K projector guidance notes that lighting, screen quality, alignment and placement affect image quality.

Check your room and gaming setup
What Hi-Fi? reports that the projectors can produce a 120-inch image from roughly eight inches away and describes a maximum projection size of 200 inches. Treat those as reported placement and size claims; the room, screen and alignment still determine whether a given setup is practical. For 4K/120Hz gaming, confirm that the console or PC and the connection path support HDMI 2.1. The sources do not establish package contents or a specific compatible screen.
